thats so sad, I hate the fact we live in such liberal times yet when it come o sexuality, everyone can be SO backwards!

whats also sad are some of the comments at the botom

    such as

"I'm reading from the correct Bible, which is the King James version. You know, the one that states that it's an abomination before God, for a man to lay with another men, and these people are to be destroyed."

and I ended up crying hen I read this

"They need to line all you queers up, and gun you down like the social trash you are. I only wish his Father had two ball bats. I also know, this comment won't be up for long because we now live in the United States of the Offended. You stupid liberal socialists better recognize where you are, which is the buckle of the bible belt. His Father did the right thing. His son's nothing but a little pervert, sexual deviant, given over to a reprobate mind."

Very sad, yet how many other similar situations never make the papers.

I think what disturbs me the most is people use religion to make their hate okay. Why would God hate someone that he created?

It's not up to human beings to judge other's sins because we have all sinned.

Technically though, the father could be tried for a hate crime and aggravated assault because he beat his kid because he was gay.

I hope that the dad spends a long time in prison and all of the other prisoners say to him everyday "Well, dude, that was your son regardless if he was gay or not, he is your son".

Wait, I just thought of something reading rex's post, the thing about liberal socialists. Socialism has nothing to do with accepting homosexuality, socialism is a type of economy. And, here I was thinking that the United States was a capitalist country :eusa_doh:.

Hmm. I think it's interesting that it happened between a father and his son. Maybe that proves that fathers are less maternal, and expect more from their sons?

I honestly apologize if this statement offends, but I don't understand how people can put the words from the pages of a book above their family.

And aggravated assault? Even if the father hadn't been understanding, there are more diplomatic ways than that to solve the problem.

There is a very ironic and bittersweet side to this: the child is 18, so he can leave, but I don't think he can file for child abuse (can he?).

I constantly get angry at myself when I hear these stories, because I get all 'vengeful' and violent. But violence isn't the answer, I'd be just a bad as that man.

At least the vast majority of the comments are positive. But yeah, that's really bad.

Yea.. I'm pretty sure if you beat your child, regardless of age, it's still child abuse.
