I am just curious of what some of you are afraid of, whether you are afraid of "common" things or not. Personally I am afraid of a lot of things...

    - Drowning
    - Snakes
    - Small spiders
    - My mom being hurt
    - Closed spaces
    - Heights
    - Bridges
    - Tractor trailers (when they drive next to you)
    - Airplanes
    - Intruders
    - Blood, unless my own
    - Social situations
    - Buses, subways, metro, cabs (germy..)
    - Doctors of any kind
    - Hospitals
    - Thunderstorms
    - Quiet (like dead quiet, it's unnerving)
    - HAPPY clowns, I find them creepy. I like the creepy ones though, their funny.

I don't have a lot of strong fears, but I do experience a lot of things that give me an uncomfortable unnerving sensation, and several things that could be considered fears, if not exactly phobias.

    - talking on the telephone, particularly with strangers/in professional situations
    - bulgy veins, especially prominent ones on faces and hands
    - social events, particularly ones in new places or with new people, but even small house parties with people I know well tend to get me worked up
    - eye contact with anyone that isn't a cat
    - trucks and other large vehicles
    - being touched

Bugs. Damn bugs. The only thing I'm afraid of, and I could crush them with my finger.

    Like a real phobia? None.

But I strongly dislike thunder and wind specifically at night.

    Rats and cockroaches...

Other fears I can control but those two even illogical still can ruin my day.

Swimming and not seeing the ground (I live near a lake, that's horrible)
Falling (I dream about it regularly)
The thing under my bed (I know there is anything weird)
    The basement
And insects (crawling, flying, ugly insects)
There are some more but they're really weird:grin:

    - Insects/Arachnids (don't laugh but butterflies totally freak me out.)

    - Social situations. Sure. I can function but really gets me anxious. So wouldn't say it's a phobia but isn't fun nonetheless.

    - Swimming. I can't swim and trying to do anything besides pathetically float's not high on my ways to spend an afternoon.

    - Hospitals/Ambulances. This one's kind of new.

Blood/injection/injury. If you force me to look at videos of injections or surgeries I will straight-up have a panic attack.

I agree with you on the butterfly thing o,o I left that out cause people laugh at me all the time for it. My school went to NYC to the Natural History Museum and I wouldn't go in the butterfly exhibit.

I feel a little uneasy when I see mobile phones. I start to panic when I hold mobile phones. Sometimes I endure panic attacks when I use mobile phones. It's as if my heart is gonna explode. I believe in facing my fears and yet I can't seem to get over this. I've owned two mobile phones. Both of them I left alone and never recharged. I just f**king can't get over it and that's seemingly final. I've thought about telling a doctor. It doesn't feel like a pressing matter. I've managed for years without carrying a mobile phone. I know it is silly. It's hard to explain, it's an intense sensation of dread. Landlines are okay so I get around it.

Other than that I do have a few mild fears. Nothing as serious as the above. I've surprised myself many times.

Maybe I shouldn't let you know about the time I climbed over an obstacle course. It was easier for me than going through it, since my balance leaves a lot to be desired. I can climb pretty well though. I'll never forget the look on the guy's face. Told me I could've died. I love thunderstorms. I can handle almost any amount of gore. So I don't fully understand my fear of mobile phones. In comparison it makes me think... what the hell!?

Funny how I see this thread now...I have a monumental fear of vomiting (emetophobia) and encountered some major triggers last night...still trying to recover.

And I'm also scared of centipedes and millipedes. I'm okay with spiders, scorpions, and other arthropods (though there are some I'd rather not deal with), but centipedes and millipedes...they're just something else.

Socializing of course :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: and also mirrors (although now it shrunk to a slight discomfort when staring in it).
