How do people who are not involved in the LGBT community get into gay relationships? I've been to a few GSA meetings at my school, but I didn't belong.

Dating in the LGBT community is a lot like getting a job. You either have to do it online or a referral

I've had some bad experience with online dating, but perhaps that is because I get very anxious when I'm talking to someone in a way other than face-to-face (when it's out of romantic interest, that is).

I was thinking about going to a gay bar myself, but I'm not sure...

I need a referral as well. I have tried the online dating thing, I have just talk to guys who have too much drama and too much negativity for me. I am a laid back and optimistic about the world type of guy.

I don't have any friends so I'm unlikely to get any referrals.

My marriage was an internet thing so I want to avoid that and I have no friends to give me a referral. I've thought about going to the gay club here, but I have no one to go with and the area here isn't the best for LGBT. So I guess I'm SOL.

I take it not many people have had much luck in the dating game.
    Including me.

In addition to us being statistically unlikely, there's all the societal issues that make it more stressful to find someone. I like to think of LGBT dating as regular dating, just on Hard Mode.
