So, I was wondering what types of schools everyone went to, prior to any university or other post-schooling education.

I go to an international public school, and before that I had standard government primary education.

So what education did you have?

I had public education from 1st grade* till 16th (college BA was at state university :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:). My high school, though, did the International Baccalaureate program so that sorta counts as "international" because most of our exams were shipped off to Cambridge, UK .

*Surprisingly, I didn't go to kindergarten.

I've been to, uh, 12 or so schools. Oops.

First was a private religious. Then a private international. Then another private international. Then an entity that can barely be considered a school. Then a spanish state school. Then another. Then an english state boarding school. Then a private international. Then an english state religious school. Then an english secular state academy. Then an english state school. Then a college.

In the UK "public schools", like Eton and Harrow are actually private schools that charge fees. If you live in the UK and go/went to a public school, you probably need to answer private school for the purposes of the poll. Most UK grammar schools will fall in the state school category, I think.

I'm sure that makes no sense whatsoever anywhere else in the world, but most people in the UK should get it.

Was in public school up until my freshman year of high school, when I pulled out in the middle of the year to homeschool. Yeah, I can't say that was the best decision of my life. Now a community college student, dunno where I'm transferring to as of right now.

There were 3 types of high schools in Turkey when I was at that age.

Private ones required money. Special ones needed brains. Those special schools require an exam to enter and can be in following areas; Language heavy schools, Police Academy, Military Academy, Nursing or Science schools, School that prepare for specific jobs like Machine Engineering etc.. Public ones needed being able to breath.

I attended one of those special schools and get one year of prep class for English then got lessons for Commerce/Computer Operating.

On Uni I tried to follow Finance but after working 10 years as an Accountant I thought I had had enough and dropped out after Military Service.

Well technically Charters are public but they usually have a separate category so I picked "other" as Charter schools are too different to fit into the "Public" label. Been at the same charter school since 7th grade and will graduate in May. After that its off to college for me yay -___- (not happy)

There aren't many, but yes. The education is free, but boarding is paid.

I went to a public / state school which was branded one of the top three worst schools in the area I live. It wasn't great. But it was definitely fun. And to be fair I don't think I've done too badly so far despite the lack of teaching an organisation I faced throughout my time at high school.
