A simple ‘thank you’ would have replaced the complement that was ignored, a simple smile would have replaced the eyes that looked away, an innocent and random kissed would have replaced the hug or embrace that was not received, a simple soft and whispered word would have replaced the long talks that carried on, and a simple tear would have washed away all the doubt, sadness, misery and pain that filled my heart. It is the simple things that mean the most, for they can both drown and rescue the lonely ships that sail upon the dark and open sea. It was the simple thing’s you could not do, and so I did a simple thing, so you would know how simple, it really was.
