I have an evening class (7-9pm) and I woke up at 4am and had trouble falling back to sleep, so after careful consideration, I decided to drink a cup of coffee. I absolutely hate the taste and smell of coffee - makes me want to gag. I had to wash down each swallow by swirling Coke in my mouth to wipe out the taste. I made it through two Cokes to get down one small cup of coffee. Now I feel bloated and overly full from all the liquid I just drank, and my burps taste like coffee.:icon_sad: But I think I'm already feeling a bit less tired. Hopefully, this misery will be worth it. But in the future I'd much prefer if I could just not wake up at 4am!
Coffee niceee!!!! Did you have sugar? You did put milk in right?? XD Anyways have fun at evening class!! And have you ever drinked too much liquid you feel it sloshing inside of you?? XD
Maybe you should try a nice cup of black tea. It has lots of caffeine if you let it brew long enough.
Ugh, coffee amps me up so bad. I don't know why but I always get the jitters after it. Soda and tea don't do it, just coffee.
I don't like coffee at all. Love coke. Isn't it the caffeine in coffee that causes you to take up surely? In which case couldn't you just stick to the coke?
Coke has a lot less caffeine than coffee. 40mg for 100mL of coffee versus 8mg for 100mL of Coke. Coke is still a potent stimulant for many people because it's very sugary. But personally I've never noticed myself having a sugar rush - maybe because I have such a sweet tooth that I've built up a resistance.
It worked! I got through my evening class just fine. It was the weirdest feeling. I knew I was tired, but it was like the tiredness was locked away, so it couldn't affect me. Now I'm pondering whether it's worth making a habit of it. Drinking the cup was really unpleasant, but I usually find that evening class exhausting, and it was nice to feel OK. It didn't affect my sleep, either. I timed it right so the effects wore off just as I was getting home.
Maybe it's the kind of coffee that you're drinking that's the problem. The lighter the roast, the milder the taste and the more caffeine it has. If you go to Starbucks, you should ask for their light blend, it's really mild in taste. Or you could try their fancy sweet coffees that barely taste like coffee. Those are pretty nice.
I unfortunately live off of caffeine these days. Monster, coffee, tea...not the best way to live I admit You could always use tea as people suggested. If you want coffee you can try things like Frappucino and cappuccino drinks
Regular old coffee is usually torture. But done right (heaps of creamer and sugar) it's palatable, and flavored iced coffee is actually really good.
You hate it? Really? I adore coffee. The smell, the taste, everything. I find it so therapeutic to drink. I could use a cup right now!
Lol sometimes I take like 3 strips of sugar & 3 of milk and well it works, for me it's not the caffeine but the combi with sugar that get's me working. But very hard to mix lol remindes me of a Seinfeld bit about those tiny coffee mixing sticks
Yeah I guess we read over that, get well soon op & maybe take an alka seltzer.. & Mr Vespucci congratulations are in order that was u'r thousandth post
LOVE coffee. to stay up and make the coffee taste better you could put it in a protein drink or slimfast.
Get flavored coffee and lots of sugar. With plain coffee sometimes I put a lot of sugar in it and when I say that I mean like 13 spoonfuls lol (but I like coffee without sugar too it just depends on my mood).
