Default So. I was at Warped tour today. [Yes this is lgbt related]

And apart from having the most fun ive had all summer, though now i have little to no voice, and i can hardly walk cause my legs are so sore, i wanna tell you guys something about it.

So theres this band that i LOVE and went to see. They are called Story of The Year. And they have a song, called "Is This My Fate?" He Asked Them. This song is about homophobia. Its a really angry song, compared to other songs about homophobia, which are sad. But SOTY are a naturally angry band, so in not surprised.

Well the thing is, when they played it, I kind of lost it. Not in a bad way. By lsot it i mean i lost my actual sense of self and let the music kind of control me, which happens to me at shows all the time cause im such a music geek. Anyway, it was like, i was screaming the lyrics at the top of my lungs, not even noticing that i was all but spitting up blood from it, and i was jumping and punching my fist in the air...While tears streamed down my face.

It was that heartfelt performance that reminded me why i hate homophobia so much. Usually i dont think about it, but that song...man its so powerful. I'll post the lyrics, cause im sure some of you wont like that type of music.

Here they are :]

Do you really fucking think
that it's a choice, a way of life
played by discrimination?
you're narrow-minded, quick to judge
with bible belt tunnel vision

This is ignorance
failure to evolve
is failure to us all
when will you learn
that this is where we fall
failure to evolve
is failure to us all
when will you learn
that this is where we fall
where we fall

"Is this my fate!?" he asked them
they answered, condemning him to burn
rejected, forsaken, for being fucking born
I can't believe that this is still a question
that needs an answer
a bigot's eyes judging lives
based on the sex of who you fuck

This is ignorance
failure to evolve
is failure to us all
when will you learn
that this is where we fall
failure to evolve
is failure to us all
when will you learn
that is where we fall
where we fall

Burn (burn), burn (burn)
judged and condemned to
burn (burn), burn (burn)
judged and condemned to burn

When will you learn?
will you learn?
when will you learn?

Spitting up blood from singing?

I could imagine you doing this by the way you described it.

They were so good! I just went to the tour in Virginia! Ah it was amazing! Did you get to see the Japanese band. I could barely understand what they were saying. It was cute though! I was very disappointed however by Katy Perry. Her performance was not that great! And gosh darn I love her music too. Was she that bad when you went?

This is for 'MusicIsMyLife'.. Did Story of the Year play 'Anthem of our Dying Day'? I would assume that they would, being that it's there debut song.. but I checked on YouTube and couldn't find any performances of that song. Usually you can search any artist @ warped and see what songs they played and nothing came up for that song.

I absolutely love it, and would be kind of dissapointed if they didn't play it.

I'm also thinking about going to Warped on August 15th- the theater they're performing in is like 15 minutes away, lol.

Anyway, I think I'll go hear that song on Youtube if I can find it- it sounds good...
and it seems you had a really intense experience. :]
