Also the Praying Mantis female starts to have sex with the male and during the sex she begins to eat his head, so he head is almost completely eaten off and they are still going at it. Then afterwards she just tosses his dead body down to the ground and goes to lay her eggs. Aren't insects beautiful? xD

The female will kill the male after mating with him, I'm not necessarily sure if she actually eats him or not. Kinda gross to think about. Lol. But from time to time I see a black widow and they're very creepy, not to mention I believe they're poisonous.

| Guest Posts: n/a | Re: Black Widow Spiders yup black widows are poisonous, as in very poisonous and they do this because the males want to make sure that their genes are passed on, the best way to do this is to ensure the survival of the young. if the female is weak, hasn't fed in a while, then the young will probably be smaller and not be able to survive. by letting the female eat him, he provides energy for the female which will help his offspring survive and give them the best chances. or atleast i believe tht is why, ive heard it afew times on nature documentaries so i ges it is correct. |
