10 weirdest things the Christian right thinks will turn your kids gay

I just want to make it clear that not all Catholics are this crazy. In fact most of them aren't. But unfortunately it's the crazy ones that force their beliefs on everyone else and make the rest of us look bad.

I read once that if you breast feed your male child for longer than 3 to 6 months, it will make him gay. I suppose that it made them hate the female breast and so made them want to be with men, who don't have bosoms.

My son, who is now almost 18 was nursed for 3 years. I caught him checking out some pics in my Victoria Secrets catalog recently and after a bit of blushing he said "Mom, I'm just a breast man!" We laughed so hard about that......

So much for THAT theory! LOL

1. A lady had told me to stop wearing pants or it might turn me lesbian and because I was a lady I should wear skirts all time .

2. Breast feeding your little kids too much can turn them gay or lesbian . I think my mom did breast feed me a lot my dad did say that .

3 . Being smart and a girl can turn you gay .

4 not liking the color pink can turn you gay if your a girl . I love the color pink and guess what I'm a lesbian .

5. Not wanting to go to church makes you gay or lesbian

6. not be leaving in God makes you gay or lesbian

The sillest one i have heard though which i actually found funny is when someone said if you are not religious then you are gay~

What's funny is that my mom thinks attraction to boobs is related to breastfeeding, in that if you don't breastfeed, your kid is less likely to like boobs. But then, there are a lot of things she attributes to not being breastfed. Actually, most of them make sense, like a weak immune system and severe allergies. I never did any research, but whatever.

 

Not true I was a bottle baby from pretty early my mom said I did not like being breast feed after a while so she gave me baby bottles and I was pretty happy with it according to her I did not like breasts very much then . and I'm an adult and I can say I love boobs .

I've heard the usual not having a father present/having an overbearing mother makes a child gay. Trying to think of more unusual ones...

 

I grew up in a Southern Baptist Church and worked in child care for the pre-school aged kids. None of them were allowed to watch Spongebob, and whenever I babysat, the parents specifically told me "no Spongebob allowed." Spongebob is literally harmless. Dumb asses.

 

I find it funny how far they stretched the Harry Potter one, because obviously, him living in a cupboard under the stairs is exactly like being in the closet. I'm actually pretty surprised that there was no mention of Bert & Ernie from Sesame Street.

Well, not quite. Some of those images can be nauseating.
Just look at the Nausea Fuel section of TV Tropes! There's an entire page just for Spongebob.
Were the kids allowed to watch other shows, or only educational? This issue might have nothing to do with religion- my parents are secular, but when I was a little brat, they didn't let me watch much TV at all.

FOX is the conservative version of MSNBC. They're both biased "news" sources.
This kind of reminds me of that British newspaper that says everything causes cancer.
I think it was the Daily Mail, but I'd need the help of a Briton to confirm that.

 

How about Tele Tubbies? Jerry Falwell said Tinky Winky was gay since he carries a purse.

I've heard people say that if a parent buys their son a onesie it will turn him gay.
