I don't know if a post about Harvey Milk already exists, and if it does, I apologize :icon_sad: I've just seen the movie "Milk" about Harvey Milk, and well, I was kind of shocked that I had never heard about this man before (but I think it's pretty understandable, since I live in Italy). Long story short, I was completely amazed by Milk. I admire him really much, he really did a lot for gay rights, and he's become kind of my hero When the movie got to the part when Dan White kills him, I cried... Maybe I'm just too emotional, but it really hurt me to see a person who did so much for freedom being killed And I think, if I'm free to be gay today, it's also thanks to him. And I don't know, I just want to talk about him any thoughts?
I first heard about him when I watched the movie too! He's a hero for me as well. I mean, what he did takes courage, and he helped to the gay rights in so many ways. It's horrible that he got killed.
yea, i learned about Harvey Milk when i was the movie. at first i was wondering if it was just another storyline but then it turned out to be a real story after all. i got a lot of respect for him after that and definitely a great figure to look up to in terms of queer history.
