Do you like animals and do you have any pets? What do they mean to you?
If you don't have pets, would you, if you could?

I know a few people have pictures of their dogs and cats on here and I get the impression that LGBT people are generally quite fond of keeping pets, so just wondered.

We have two dogs (retired racing Greyhounds). They are 40mph couch potato's and spend lots of time

Sorry of this has been asked before.. couldn't see a previous thread.

I just have fish :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: a bunch of tiger barbs. My mother can't stand animals in the house :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My parents got two cats shortly before I went to college. I think they're my replacements. Unfortunately, I don't get to see them often and I can't have pets of my own in my apartment. I love cats and I would have one (or two or three) if I could.

Next year I'll be living with a group of people and one of them has a cat, so I'm looking forward to stealing all the kitty snuggles.

I have a stinky cat named Toby. He is kinda like a little brother. He needs help with stuff, like getting up on a really high shelf. He likes to cuddle at night when he sleeps. He gets into my stuff and it annoys me. He is curious about things.

I would like to have a cat but a) I live in an apartment without balcony so s/he would have to stay inside forever and b) I'm away from home too much to take care of one.

One day I'll be an old cat lady man.

Yes, that's the worst of having pets, when they die or get lost it's too sad, and their lifespan is not very long, at least for dogs and cats.

I have a beagle named Roxy and she is my baby, haha. I have pictures of her on my profile. We had a lab mix named Lady, but she passed away in 2012 from cancer. Losing pets is way too hard, I hate it. We also have two beta fish with the most ridiculous names we could think of: Rufus Jean and Waterson Lee. :roflmao: I think it's fun to give fish fancy names. We've had them both for over a year--beta fish live SO long. One of ours lived for 3 years, so it was a bit of a bummer when he died.

I would totally love to have a cat, but unfortunately I'm allergic. I can't pet them for more than 5 minutes without getting itchy all over. So in other words, I can never be a good stereotypical lesbian because I can't have cats

I'm down to one cat and one rabbit.

Dax is a long haired tabby - she was my nan's cat and initially a rescue. Super affectionate, loves my lap and usually wants to sleep in my bedroom when I'm home. Love her to bits. She's most clingy since we lost Buffy, our beagle. She was the best dog, I truly couldn't have asked for better. I love you Buff.

He-Man is an opal butterfly French Lop. He too loved Buff. Dax is unsure of him and usually slaps him when he approaches her to give her "Hello" nudge.
My parents won't let me get him a companion - I got him when I wasn't living with them. He's my fat man. Spoiled rotten brat - he can be a miserable little sod, for which I cannot blame him. He has a problem with his eyes which the vets can't figure out - his eyes run and it dries like concrete so daily I have to wash his eyes, trim away the crust and fur, and brush out the remains.... Very painful/uncomfortable for him.
To me it justifies paying through the nose for premium food, hays, treats, litter and carpet for his shed in autumn for the cold winter, not to mention all the fresh veggies and fruit.
The only reason I don't have a photo of him on here is because he looks sick because of his eyes.

I have had many more pets. Should I create a gallery and put their photos up? I warn you, it will be a cuteness overload if I do.

I've a West White Highland Terrier named Daisy. She's been named for Daisy from The Great Gatsby[/U ]. She's far more faithful though. She's 12 now. Daisy is a wonderful companion and she is a sweetheart, loves to cuddle. I don't know how I would have gotten this far in coming out without her.

I have never been more than a year without a dog in my life, although I've neve had a large breed. I'd love a Newfoundland or a Scottish Deerhound, but they live such short lives. I don't know I could part with an animal so quickly.

I have two dogs, both cavaliers. One female, Ella, and one male, Woody. Ella is a quiet dog, and keeps herself to herself. She's not one for playing too much and is known for her irritating snoring XD Woody is the complete opposite, he's just mad! He has so much energy and is always looking for attention.

My dogs are my kids. And they're the only kids I'll ever have, too.

This is Bullseye, my Doberman/Brittney mix:

And this is Maggie, my German Shepard/Spitz mix:

No, he just has a polka-dotted tongue. He's not a big fan of the camera and he doesn't like it when you mess with his mouth, so I don't have very many pictures of his tongue. This was from when he was about a year old. Today he has a white beard and mustache.
