Gay, homoflexible, bi with tendency to same gender. It's whatever the person feels most comfortable with calling themselves.

Listen. Let's just stop using these dumb scales, tests, and polls and just be ourselves. Identify as yourself.

It's whatever you feel comfortable with. I have a strong preference for girls (at least at the moment) and am trying to realize which label I am as well. But in the end, you like who you like, and if you like men occasionally, don't limit yourself within a label if you don't feel it fits you.

    I'm a Kinsey 5, and I'm definitely gay.

Another Kinsey 5 might feel differently, but that's their business and they can call themselves whatever they want.

I would say bisexual, but with a strong preference for the same sex. From what I've found, it's defined as "primarily homosexual but incidentally heterosexual."

Isn't the point of a numeric scale to avoid having to use labels that may not be entirely accurate? Kinsey 5 is Kinsey 5, gay is gay, and the two aren't the same.

Now don't get me started on the lack of validity of the online questionnaires from which these elusive Kinsey numbers typically come from... Or why we need about 100 distinct words to describe folks' sexuality... And then 6 numbers, too.

    </rant> Lol.

I used to have this philosophy until I discovered that if I didn't fly my own flag, someone else would always choose one for me, and believe me they never chose nicely.

People in a persecuted minority have the right to self-identify. It gives them community, a sense of belonging. There are positive aspects to labels. Do what you want for yourself of course. I'm just gonna put forward a different perspective for the other side here. Some people don't have the luxury of falling cleanly to one side, and for them, 'dumb scales' are the only way they can express themselves.

    Anyway 5 is gay.
    And 1 is straight.

    homo and heteroflexible, respectively.

My opinion is only 1 or 6 is either exclusively straight or gay. The rest in between are shades of Bi or Queer. I am a 4, or more closely a 4.5. I don't have a problem with it either. I choose Queer, but Bi does not bother me either.
