I'm asking because I'm 14 and I was never allowed to be barefoot anywhere, not even in the house. My parents are the REALLY overprotective type and they never let me go barefoot anywhere so I don't get sick from my feet being cold or stepping on anything sharp or gross etc. My childhood was pretty empty tbh xD ask any questions if you want.

Eh, my mother is like that a lot too, but mostly I just ignore her at this point. I'm almost eighteen and I know where my limits are, whether she believes it or not. I know if my feet will get too cold or not, and I know how tough my feet are. Yeah, she tends to press me about it a lot still, but at this point there's not much she can do. I'm a barefooter forever.

At home, yes. Although my dad used to complain if I wasn't wearing socks, he still does actually. I like walking barefoot outside, too  especially on grass.

Oddly, yes. When I was about 13, I lived with an aunt for a year and there was hardwood floors that she thought got cold in the winter, so insisted I wore socks at all times. At 13, I was able to determine if my feet were cold. It was really annoying to have someone controlling me to such a degree and I even got "scared" to be caught barefoot.

We had to be barefeet in the house (socks allowed obviously) no shoes allowed~

I also wear barefeet in the garden and other indoor places but never outdoor places with concrete etc incase of glass and stones~ although on holiday i did always walk from the shiwer to caravan/tent without shoes ^.^

I'm allowed at home but when I was a kid I got a bee stuck in my flip flop and now I'm too scared to go anywhere without close toed shoes

I also stepped in a wasp in my kitchen but that wasn't as bad cause I wasn't allergic to it

Yeah but I never did. I'm like OCD about it too, I usually have my shoes on inside all the time or at least socks. Funny thing is that I also have a foot fetish. I never wear sandals and I wear a pair of Nikes all year round.

I only wear shoes when I have to, I love being barefoot. One time when I was 7/8, I did step on a bee and later had to have surgery because we thought we got the stinger out but we didn't and it formed a pretty deep tumor. Even then I am still barefoot or in socks most of the time.

Are you kidding? I grew up running around my trailer park barefoot catching frogs and getting into trouble  I never wore shoes. Never.

Yep, spend most of my childhood bare foot and fancy free. Ok not so much fancy free but yes bare footed and snotty nosed until the day my friend broke his toe on my table and then I have worn slippers, shoes or socks most the time.

I live out in the middle of no where, so barefoot is preferable especially if you are going outside quickly; not enough time for shoes too dirty for socks.

There is something about being bare feet that I love.

I think it would've be advisable for your parents to let you be barefoot.

There is something therapeutic about touching the Earth naturally.

Most traditional Asian households require guests and family members to take off shoes, sandals, etc. upon entering. Since I was raised that way, I'm used to walking barefoot around the house all the time.

Even at my non-Asian friends' houses, out of habit, I take off my shoes (but leave socks on) despite everyone else keeping their shoes on :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

In Finland, we rarely wear shoes inside so I always have socks on at least.
