Yup, it's that time of year again. The time of year where juniors and seniors all over the United States have their mail boxed flooded with college information because they filled out some little paper that some weirdo shoved in their hands at some convention somewhere. *sigh* So, out of curiosity, I decided to ask all of you to give what you think are the best LGBT friendly colleges/universities in the US of A. I already know that I am definitely for sure applying to the University of Chicago and UMass. Do you have any other recommendations?

Western Michigan was ranked #21 on the list of the most LGBT-friendly universities in America.

    UMass Amherst for the win!

Wish I was more involved when I was there.

I heard that Brown University helps trans people pay for SRS and HRT.
Oh, and so does Caltech, apparently. (Dream college? Dream college.)

I wouldn't worry too much about finding the most LGBTQ friendly university. As long as the university doesn't have a reputation for being discriminatory to LGBTQ than it probably won't have that great of an effect on your stay there. I would really consider what you want to study academically and contrast the programs that are offered at each school. Academics are, after all, the task that you are going to be slaving over for at least the next four years.

By the way, the two you are applying to are strong academically (I have two masters from UMass).
