Sorry to be posting about this AGAIN, but my Dad really isn't getting that "Liberal is Bad" and "Conservatism is Good" are OPINIONS, and fails everytime to back these statements up with opinion. He thinks the disrespectfullness of kids is down to Liberalism. Any other points about these political viewpoints?

Oh, and if you are concerned ("but tradition is so... old!") There is libertarianism, as well.
There's a lot more than just "conservative" and "liberal".

My suggestion is to politely ask about your father's beliefs in conservatism.
I don't really know what the UK's right wing is like.

Sorry to say OP, but I think you're pissing into the wind. People's political opinions just aren't changed unless that person is open to it, and most aren't.

So he thinks that "Conservatism is Good" is a fact? :/

The "disrespectfulness of kids" as your dad might call it is just kids thinking for themselves and not bowing down to authority.

You could tell him that you will allow that "Conservatism is bad" is an opinion too?

There are so many different types of liberalism and conservatism that it's not even worthwhile discussing them without the nuance. They come in so many forms that it's really redundant criticising them as if they are similar throughout.

Totally agree.... most have their frame of thinking and are stuck into it and won't change, people almost always resist changing.
