They have been living in another country for the last couple of years and just moved back. We just didn't stay in touch when she left, nothing more.
Well, if you think it might be awkward, don't contact her. If it ended well and on good terms then go for it, it's nice to hear from someone you haven't seen for a while.
I can see the appeal. I still have one girl in particular I keep thinking about, we used to work together. Even if she weren't interested, it would be good to have her as a friend again. It's sort of like your situation, I've never been good about keeping in touch with people once we part ways. I think you should go for it!
