Location: Middle of Oregon Age: 50 Posts: 7,572 Join Date: Mar 2007 |  Scandalous! Today I go out to get my mail and there is a big manilla envelope from an attorney addressed to my PFLAG chapter. I got scared thinking somebody was suing us for something. However, come to find out, we are the beneficiary in someones' will! YAHOO!!!!! I googled her name and found an obituary. She was 81 when she died on July 2nd. She left $20,000 to a female. Another $20,000 to a son. Now here comes the scandalous part. On February 8th, 2008 she changed her will. She made it perfectly clear she was leaving nothing to two of her sons and added PFLAG as a beneficiary. Whoa!!! Now what do you all conclude from that? We don't know how much we're getting yet. It said the balance of her estate would be divided amongst six non-profit organizations. Anything will help! I'm so excited. We've never been the beneficiary in someones' will before!

Maybe the one that got the money was gay. But it seems weird that she left $20,00 to an undisclosed female too. Hmmmm...

It turns out that the female recipient was a caregiver by profession so most likely she cared for this elderly lady. So I'm guessing probably the one son was gay and the other two did not accept him.

That's awesome becky! =D Kind've funny too o.o; Reminds me of one of those fact or fiction stories that used to air on TV. Posted about it not that long ago... A woman was wandering around a graveyard, (can't remember why) and stumbled upon a funeral, with no attendees, not even someone to preside over it. She felt bad and sat down, not knowing the person, just in case he was watching, he'd feel a little loved. About 5 minutes later, a priest comes from the back and comes up to her, and tells her who the guy was. He then tells her his will states that his entire estate is to be split with those who attend his funeral. Being the only person, she inherits an entire strangers complete fortune. Come to find out, it was a true story.
