What had happened was I wanted cinnamon toast. So I put the bread in the toaster and proceeded to watch the boondocks (love that show) from the kitchen.

I take 4 steps away from the toaster and every fire alarm in the house goes off! We have like 7 so it was loud. So I'm trying to fan the alarm so it'll stop beeping before my parents wake up but there's freakin 7 of em so that didn't happen.

I didn't even know my toast was burned to a crisp. So the alarms stop beeping and I go look at the toast and its tar black. LOL

that happened at 1 in the morning. Needless to say my parents were upset. Lol

    Stupid toaster. : P

Uuurrrmm, I think I would have been slightly upset also!!! Is this a habit of yours to burn toast, is that why you have so many smoke detectors?

Just kidding, smoke detectors drive me mad, I know they save lives and all that but how many people have they rendered deaf coz you can't turn the darn thing off and it's only a bit of burnt toast/fishfingers/sausage anyway?

That's why Cinamon Toast Crunch is better.

You don't have to cook it and it's got swirls of cinamon toast flavor in every bite!

The perfect way to cooking toast,
Just so you never have to guess,
Cook it 'til it burns and then,
    Twenty seconds less.

I can't remember where I heard that from, but still good advice

I am too short to turn the dang things off so you will often see me with a pillow fanning the smoke away until they go off. My kids tell me that when the smoke alarm goes off, dinner is ready.

    Lmao Becky.

The smoke alarm in my house is installed right outside of the kitchen. One time, my parents were cooking something and it was all smoky and the alarm went off. Well, to try and stop the problem, they closed the sliding door that lead to the kitchen, but all the smoke had went into the room with the alarm, so my dad had to turn the thing off, but the off switch didn't work, so he literatly had to take the thing down and take out the batteries. I came running from the other room going "Where's the fire?!?" I proceeded to duck under the table.

Let's just say it was an interesting day.

The last time my little brother tried cooking, I learned two things: how not to make cookies, and that smoke alarms have two sources of electricity.

Haha, I never use the toaster. I always use the microwave because I like soft things instead of crispy.

...I'm a little weird like that.

Lol. I didn't even get to make my toast!
I just gave up after I burned them up the first time.

Plus I didn't want to risk the alarm going off again. Haha.

Well, when I was living at home, and my mom was toasting the toast for breakfast, the smoke detectors went off nearly every morning. I never slept in!!

I'm curious about how far away your seven fire alarms are from each other.
