What is the weirdest phobia(s) that you have? (I don't mean banal fears like for spiders or similar...)

    About me:

Hipopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia -> fear for very long words.

Singenesophobia -> fear for the relatives.

Venustraphobia -> fear for beautiful uninhibited women.

    What's yours?

Not sure if these are weird enough or not...

Anuptaphobia - fear of staying single.

    Ecclesiophobia - fear of church.

Methyphobia - fear of alcohol. (just the smell of it makes me want to run)

Vaccinophobia - fear of vaccinations. (due to my algophobia (fear of pain)... and being raised by an anti-vax woman)

Yeah, they're weird! I've never heard about the fear for the church, for example.

Mottephobia - fear of moths. They just ... kinda freak me out, especially the ones with the eye patterns on their wings.
Also have a very acute fear of very open and seemingly endless space (agoraphobia I believe). I've met more people with this fear so I don't know if it would be considered "weird" by most.

I think these may not be weird enough for you but still, here goes and don't laugh!

Emetophobia - Fear of throwing up, feeling nauseous or being around those who are likely to throw up or do go ahead and actually throw up
There's no official name for this one apparently - Fear of the sound of teeth being brushed (I hate it soooooooo much that I have to listen to really loud music through my earphones when I brush my teeth)
No official name for this one either as far as I could find - Fear of the sound of hands being rubbed together

Agoraphobia is nearly common, like claustrophobia (it's its opposite)

    Wow, they're so much weird! (Don't worry, I didn't laugh  )

Ever heard of the fear of washingmachines? I don't know if it has a name:grin:
Or the fear of the morning alarm clock? Every day I wake up with a heart attack.

Oh, forgot. Fear of little kids.

Haha thanks I think! They're made even weirder by the fact that I have no issues with the "common phobias" like small spaces, spiders, darkness, heights etc...

A girl I know has a fear of dogs for the weirdest reason. When I asked her why she was afraid of dogs so much, she replied:

"because I don't know where they end..."

She said this as though it was the most natural thing ever. When I questioned her about it after many minutes of dying with laughter, she explained what she meant. Basically when she sees a dog with lots of fur, she doesn't know how big that dog is under the fur, and is therefore scared of it. She's basically scared of her hand travelling endlessly into the dogs fur and never returning. Slightly strange, but it amused me when she told me.

I dated someone who was afraid of socks.

Cell phones. Spawn of satan! I tried to keep a cell phone for college and I threw it away. I got another one last year and I used it once. Now I gave it to my mom, she loves cell phones. I have no problem talking on landlines. All I can think is 'the cell phone is evil and something terrible is gonna happen to me.' Pictures of cell phones, are okay. It's the physical presence of the offending item(s) that gives me the creeps. It's difficult to avoid cell phones because almost everyone has one. I've considered telling a doctor. I shall probably never buy the iphone!

Also; tsunami. If you see one coming, you are doomed, it doesn't matter what you do. I can't imagine anything more terrifying... except my old stygiophobia. My pulse increases when I google pictures of huge tidal waves.
