I hate living in Texas. It's pretty much a dump filled with country music, Duck Dynasty, and rednecks. All of which I can not stand...

I can't really speak on behalf of Texas since I am not from Texas I am from New York City here but my boyfriend was born and raised in Texas. All I hear from him is complaints about how the city is too cold here but how in Texas the summers and through parts of the year the heat is killer bad. But aside from the weather I do not know enough about Texas to say it is bad. The only show I watch from Texas is storage wars Texas I don't pay no mind to Duck Dynasty.

I guess I'll have to brace myself since I may be relocating there in a few years.

Wasn't Texas's SSM ban ruled as unconstitutional recently?
I can't stand the heat, but the South has some good food, at least.

That's a state I don't even want to set foot in, much less live in.

I'm going to have to at some point if I'm going to reach my goal of having been to all 50.

Good food? Not texas, at least not Lyndon. My father's job requires him to travel a lot. When he was working in rural Louisiana, he said it was the best food in the world. Now he's in Lyndon Texas, and he says it is either disgusting, or fried. Mostly fried.

Never been in Texas, but my ex got lost there once. Generally describes it as hell stretched out for trillions of miles, lol.

Austin is the best place to be GLBT in Texas. State-level politics is controlled by right-wing crazies though. Dallas and Houston are also big enough cities to have gay neighborhoods and social scenes.

But most small rural Texas towns ... avoid at all costs as the prevailing attitudes are ultra-conservative.

This is all I can literally think about when I see this thread title:

  18. I don't live there, but my cousins and Uncle do and I never hear them complaining about it.

As for me, although I haven't been there, I'm from Louisiana and yes, I would prefer to live in Tokyo or Seoul because those places are more like my dream places and I would like to be in a big city with all the entertainment and get away from all the bugs and freshwater - But even with those places, and just like with Louisiana and Texas, there is still homophobia and racism. However, I can't hate on a whole state, because even though it may not be my type of place, still, there are good people there.

So yeah, those are my thoughts^^

I want to visit Texas at one point when I'm older seems like an interesting place. Probably more urban Texas than rural. Austin, Houston, Dallas etc. I've heard a lot of good things about Austin, Good food, Good music, good culture. And I remember reading an article from Forbes predicting that Houston would be America's next globally known city by 2023(Which basically means it's projected to be in line with NYC, LA, etc. so that would definitely be an interesting place to check out

Texas is kinda ok. Don't really have much to say about it other than I wish we had more precipitation, all our lakes would stop drying up, there were less rednecks, and some other stuff could be better.
