Do you give your parents a gift on their wedding anniversary? If so what do you give them?

My parents will have their 26th wedding anniversary in a month and I'm still deciding what present to give them. I will probably buy a tie for my dad and buy my mom a little something in the Lismore crystal pattern she loves. In our family, the wedding anniversary is a big deal, almost like Christmas, so maybe it's different in other families, because my parents also buy presents for my sister and I since they like to share the event as a family. I don't mean to brag about my parents (except to homophobes because I'm the poster child of "child who grew up with both parents and still turned out gay" :lol:slight_smile:.

Just wondering how it is in your household.

Well, not every year. But I did get them a set of crystal wine glasses for their 30th anniversary, which they loved (my Mum probably way more than my Dad, but still ).

My parents are separated, but even then, I wouldn't consider it an event that a child should mark unless the parents want it.

Nah, not really. They don't expect anything and it's not really celebrated anyway. But I usually buy them a bottle of wine or a bunch of flowers cause coming over empty-handed feels dumb.

Yeah, I feel like it's something to be celebrated.
I'll expect the same from my hypothetical kids in the future LOL!

I gave them a packet of 5 condoms. 5 latex black ''dark fantasy'' condoms normally used by BDSM enthusiasts. Sometimes I wished I'd have kept them for myself >.>

My father shows no interest in their anniversary, my mother does though and uncannily reminds everyone when it is due.

I gave my parents two tickets to the Maldives. They were very happy, I am proud that my dear is still passionately in love with each other. However, very ashamed that I almost forgot what day they were married. Thanks to the mobile phone, I established a special reminder

I kinda did I think. As their anniversary was my birthday.

Before dad passed away we used to celebrate it together. I was young (10 y.o.) when he died so never had a chance to give them a present.

I suppose I thought it was between them to give each other gifts if they wanted to celebrate in that way. I have heard of others celebrating the big milestone dates such as 25th or 50th though.

Mine were divorced so I feel it'd be in poor taste.

My brothers and I like to either make them a nice dinner or take them out. But we haven't since we all moved away. Maybe we can do it again this year.

Absolutely, you give a gift. Usually, something both will enjoy.

I'm a terrible daughter, I don't even know when their anniversary is. I think my mom tells me every year, but I forget. It's their day, not mine or my brother's or my grandparents'.
