Yea, I'm asking you! Are you a little feminist inside?

I have to admitt I'm kinda one.
And no. I don't hate men. I don't think all men are the same.
I'm for equality in every sections.
I might be not that well informed of history of feminism and stuff but I just call myself a little feminist.

Anyone out there with similar thoughts?

    P.S.: Boys! Don't hide.

But i don`t know, i feel like feminism today is associated with those extreme feminists that i really don`t like that much.

I would consider myself a feminist.

  7. I am definitely for woman's rights, so I guess in a way I am a feminist!! More specifically, I just want to EVERYONE, regardless if they are the minority or majority to be treated equally!!

So yeah, I guess I am a feminist or equal rights supporter

Not really. Encountered too many that want to ignore the issues that men have and only focus on women. Not to mention, the double standards. Had one tell me that bringing up men being raped marginalizes what women go through and that men should "stop whining".

Also, tumblr feminists tend to be the sort that go "it's still rape if she says yes".

No, because I don't believe in gender roles. While often feminist only fight the gender roles that hurt woman. For example they will attack the "woman belong in the kitchen" role rightfully so but then they will happily defend that all rape victims are women and all rapists are men gender roles. And that women should have powers against men with those gender roles in mind. When really men get raped as well but their ignored because they are just told to "to man up" and feminists I feel contribute to this.

There are always people that do believe the things you say.
Don't just fixate on this group. I'm not one of them.
    Hope I get you right:grin:

Why shouldn't they can be raped? (I'm pretty sure I messed up this sentence)
There are surely some crazy women or men out there that would rape any human being.

I am a Feminist in the same vein that I'm a supporter of equal rights for any marginalized group that shouldn't be marginalized. Feminist doesn't equate to "gender roles" or "man hating" or even belittling the issues of men, it's about recognizing that women are still treated as second rate citizens all around the world. I've studied gender issues so maybe that's something that leads me to a be a feminist, if you study it you'll realize that there is still a lot of sexism, some of it ambiguous, some of it blatant.

Egalitarian - which is probably what I would describe myself as. I guess you could label me as a feminist in the sense that I support equal rights for all, but feminism is clearly geared towards equal rights for women - which is completely fine, but I don't feel there is place for me in such a movement.

I don't think feminism is about hating men, but a minority of feminists have taken such an attitude, and view all men as entitled, perverted rapists. Those are the type of people I dislike and actively avoid, and they have done well to taint feminism by making it appear like all feminists are nutty bra burners (which they're not, of course).

You are always going to have people in a cause/organization/belief that are bad or way too radical. For example in animal protection there's the group PETA, and everyone can acknowledge I think that they're a terrible animal protection group. And then of course the age old example of radical Christians. Now does that make all Christians bad or radical? Nope, but those are the one's people usually choose to actively ignore.

Anyway same with feminism. You're gonna have the really sh*tty ones who hate men and want woman to become the one's "in charge" and have terrible mottos but that's not all of us. I actively support destroying gender roles used against woman AND men, and I support the rights of trans people in feminism too. But the reason why feminism at time focuses more on woman is because society is still structured in a way that appeals/helps men more than woman, there is still oppression happening and it needs to be stopped.
Feminists who want to change society to make it better for them and put men down are not real feminists at all.
