Can't you like something because you find it fun or get something out of it?

For example if someone says to me they like Twilight, I don't automatically think the worst of them.

Another thing, I enjoy ALL the Star Wars movies for different reasons.

I just think judging people for reasons like what they enjoy is BS. :/

No, sometimes all a movie has to have is sex and violence. Consensual hawtness and spilling the guts of those who are evil are things that make me swoon over movies.

Also, A New Hope was a good movie.

Nah.... I like a lot of different movies ranging from action to romance..... judging someone on what they like as a movie is completely idiotic though... Why should I care what movies someone else finds good?

Absolutely, not! Look at "300 Rise of an Empire"; eye candy, special effects, lots of blood. What's not to like. The movie is still crap, but at the dollar theater a fun couple of hours...at full price...I'd be pissed. One of my favorite movies is "At Long Last Love". according to critics one of the bottom ten. Burt Reynolds sings and dances to Gershwin in an homage to screwball comedies with Sybil Shephard and Madeline Kahn.

All film is art, whether it's crappy or not. Same with other art, haha.

Art is overrated, anyways. I see film as a medium. Just like books aren't necessarily art, films aren't necessarily art. I liked 300 and Pacific Rim.

By the way, Twilight is a crappy book series, and the movies are only a little better, but at least we have a ton of amusing parodies and sarcastic commentary. Sparkly vegan vampires.:roflmao:

I'd say they're art, some being better than others obviously.

I don't judge people for liking different kinds of movies though. Well, I don't judge them as a person but I remember if they have tastes similar to mine and use that when considering their recommendations.

I see art in cinema in general; even if it's low quality and horrid.

I have to admitt I don't like Star Wars or Twilight.
But I would never judge people cause of that.
I mean, I listen to metal and where I live there's mainly this mainstream music. So sometimes I'm judged cause of what I listen to. Not often but a few times til now.
If the girls I like I would love to watch with her any crappy movie.

    Ever seen Sharknado?
If this is art I'm the Queen of China!
Ok, maybe it is art to make a movie that bad!!!

I don't care if a film is artistic in the visual sense, as long as the plot is good enough. I can also enjoy some pretty esoteric humour that people would otherwise think is moronic.

It will become art. The Flyting of Dunbar and Kennedy is literature and that's little more than an enormous collection of rhyming poop jokes.

If you want to see a movie that's not art, look up the trailers for Zombeaver and Birdemic.

I think it depends from the movie.

A movie is simply a medium. Whether it is art or not is defined by the viewer, not the object itself. Of course it does not have to be art.

Nope. Pacific Rim case and point. This movie was built to please the inner twelve year old inside of all of us and nothing more.
