For tough clothing stains, I use Murphy Oil Soap (for wood). Pretty effective. Find it in the grocery store's floor cleaning section.
Depends what kind of paint it is... was it on a bench or something? If it was, I've heard people say turpentine oil is good to remove that kind of paint from cloth.
