These are from a book called "Life's Little Instruction Book", by Jackson Brown and H. Jackson Brown, Jr

    1. Turn enemies into friends by doing something nice for them
    2. When you say, I love you, mean it.
    3. When you say, I'm sorry, look the person in the eye
    4. Believe in love at first sight.
    5. Never laugh at anyone's dreams.
    6. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live completely.
    7. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
    8. Don't judge people by their relatives.
    9. Talk slow but think quick.
10.When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, Why do you want to know?
11.Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
12.When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
13.Remember the three R's: Respect for self, Respect for others, Responsibility for all your actions.
14.Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
15.Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
16.When opportunity knocks, invite it to stay for dinner.
17.Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
18.Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
19.In disagreements with loved ones, deal with the current situation. Don't bring up the past.
20.Never interrupt when you're being flattered.
    21.Mind your own business.
22.Remember that the best relationship is one where your love for each other is greater than your need for each other.
23.Learn the rules, then break some.
24.Your religion is what you do when the sermon is over.
25.I've learned that you know your husband still loves you when there are two brownies left and he takes the smaller one.
26.Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the ones you did.
    27.Tape record your parents' laughter.
28.Don't be rushed into making an important decision when you are angry
29.Be brave. Even if you're not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.
30.Take care of your reputation. It's your most valuable asset.

So what are your 3 favorite ones?

Some of these I've found to be useful, but others seem oversimplified. My favorites:

11.Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.

14.Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

    28. Don't be rushed into making an important decision when you are angry.
