I was just wondering if there were any LGBTQIA stereotypes that you just can't stand hearing anymore. I have a few, but which ones piss you off?

Talking about two gay guys and wondering "so which one is the girl" ?

The stereotype that all bisexual people want to have sex with everything and anything and are more likely to cheat annoys me quite a bit.

I can't stand it when straight guys think every gay guy wants to sleep with them. That pisses me off to no end.

When every straight guy thinks that a gay guy wants to be with him, that's the most stupid thing you can hear all the time.

It's because some gay guys not all or at least one gay guy not knowing they were straight hit on them or one ignoring the fact that they were straigth continued to hit on them and they associated it with every gay man they meet .

"You don't seem gay". I'm only out to one online friend. So although I'm not recipient of such comment. It bugs me when I hear it.

A lot of people in my area seem to see being gay as too much of an external thing than part of our emotions inside. They seem to expect all gays to be very flamboyant and have a high voice. I don't have ANY problem with anyone who matches this description, but they can't seem to understand that not everyone is like this.

When I do come out, I don't know whether this will be said to me, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Sitcom portrayal of gay people. Soaps are good for portraying different varieties (we vary) but sitcoms go for horrid stereotypes of awkward looking people camping it up way beyond excess yet the people playing the gay are straight.

True but the thing with soaps that annoys me is they'll have a cookie-cutter "coming out" story, usually with one of the guys in a straight relationship who is questioning for a bit of drama ("what if the partner finds out?!" etc). Then after everything "comes out" you never see or hear of the character again, they don't seem to get any romantic or even just interesting storylines after that.

It feels like the writers just use gay coming out stories as a quick way to boost ratings in times of need. Mind you, I'm biased as I'm not a fan of soaps due to a similar reason - they seem to repeat themselves and are quite predictable (theres always an affair or a murder when ratings begin to dip!).

That happened to me after I came out, one of the sporty guys in my year kept on flirting with me and trying to find out if I found him attractive, in the end he convinced himself that I fancied him. Some people... :bang:

That having sex with the opposite gender will magically cure us. Corrective rape, which falls into this, disgusts me.

I hate the sexualization of lesbians. It's like, either lesbians are hot and are something to wank to and nothing more, or just bull dykes. Every time I try and look up something useful, the moment I type in lesbian, everything is porn.

    Okay, I ranted, I'm sorry.

I am a guy who likes guys.
I like to cook and entertain.
    I am a longhair(for the moment).

All of the above facts have NOTHING to do with each other.

The idea that being an effeminate man = being gay, and being a butch woman = lesbian.

You can't like or play sports and be a gay/bi male. "Are you sure you're not just jealous?"
