what did you parents say when you asked them where babies came from ?

My mom told me u take a pill.

 

My parents told me--fairly accurately without being graphic. Sorry no joke...

 

My parents told me EVERYTHING having to do with sex... no joke...

 

My mom said she went to a gypsy.

 

My parents never talked to me about it, I learned from the fifth graders on the bus. Aaaah, second grade.
Of course, when my parents finally did talk to me about it, I was already fully informed (more that than a fifth grader) and they were really confused when I was like, "Yeah I know."

 

My mom handed me a book after telling me the basics for about 10-15 minutes.

 

Wait so there's not a magical stork that delivers the baby to a mother? I missed the memo...

 

I don't remember, but I figured it out on my own fairly early.

 

Even though I had a sheltered childhood my parents told me the truth.

 

I sort of figured out the technicalities before my mum had a chance to tell me anything. I had heard that babies were the result of sex, I didn't know what sex was but understood it was something involving physical contact. I also knew that males and females had different parts. Then one day I was sitting outside and I watched someone open a gate by inserting a key into a padlock and I thought: 'Ah, that must be how genitals work!' :lol: I went home and asked my mum if I was correct and she couldn't believe that I'd figured it out and thought someone must have told me!

 

I don't recall ever asking, actually. The knowledge just sorta gradually came.

I do, however, remember in kindergarten contemplating how a baby was able to grow in my mom's stomach without being digested by the acid. I didn't know there was a whole organ dedicated to making babies.

But my answers were pretty creative. One was that all babies developed with butterfly coccoons that fell off when they were born. Another was simply magic.

Oh, another was that babies were invincible until they were born. Then they just became like the rest of us.

 

My parents were silent on the matter until my mom gave me a sex ed. booklet the summer before sixth grade. No follow up discussion. My wife and I talked to our son about the basics when he was 8 years old. Now, at almost 10, he has no problem referring to how babies can actually be made.

 

My family is full of doctors and everyone lectured my parents about how giving us a watered down version wouldn't be helping us in the long run and this whole spiel...but my parents already had decided they were going to open with us and have open conversations, so whenever we had questions about how babies were made they always told my brother and I the truth.

Probably could have waited a little longer considering I started asking in 1st grade, but the rule was we didn't talk to friends about it "just in case their mommy or daddy doesn't want them to know yet".

 

I don't think I ever asked them. I know when I was 10ish I made some random comment arguing with my brother and my mom calmly asked "do you know what sex is?" but I'm pretty sure that's the extent of it.

 

I never asked. From what I recall I never really thought about it since I'm the youngest and when I got older i knew where babies came from. There wasn't really any period in my life were I was thinking "I wonder where babies come from". Either that or I just was told so long ago that I have no clue

 

Sex really was not explained to me by my parents so well. I learned most of my stuff from the Internet and TV. (sadly...) My mom told me I came from her stomach. I don't remember asking her how I got in there. It was a good enough explanation for me.

 

Uh i thought it was holding hands and kissing with whoever you love and than magic just struck you. I guess i kinda found out by playing sims? :')

 

A vagina. Seriously why is this a big deal? Tell your kids the truth.
