    1) What do you think of littering?
2)If you sometimes litter, what is going through your mind as you throw the garbage on the street (even when there is a garbage can within sight)??

I think littering is something we all do and we're all ashamed to admit, like picking your nose or biting your nails.

I have littered before, but never in a vastly public place where there was a trash can 1-20 feet away. I always try to throw things away for myself (and often times i'll do it for others also).

    Why do you ask? cx

I would never litter in public etc., but I am a messy/borderline hoarder as far as my car and house go.

I can't remember the last time I littered.... I always try to keep trash until I can throw it away... I really dislike people who litter in public... the only thing I have recently throw out on the side of the road is like apple cores... which I don't think will hurt too much lol

I disagree with the notion that everyone litters. It is not that difficult to find a trash can in public. Aside from environmental effects, I have issues with littering for cleanliness reasons. If you wouldn't randomly toss trash indoors, why would you suddenly get the urge to do it outdoors?

I hate litter so much. If my team leaves any litter on the field after the games and it is found, they do sprints.

Yeah I'm not really sure how people do it And not feel super guilty! I can't remember the last time I did it intentionally but I do remember walking around looking for a trash can for a good 20 minutes or so--not so fun

I rarely litter anymore because I wear oversized hoodies with giant pockets and I just store everything in there until I can throw it away.

Never. I pick up other people's litter. In parking lots, on the sidewalk, in the street, on the beach.

If I see someone litter I call them on it. No apologies!

I tried to toss a gum wrapper on the ground once. I physically couldn't get myself to do it. I don't remember ever littering on purpose, and I try to pick up trash on the ground whenever I see it. It depends on the situation, but if I see a person willfully leave garbage on the ground (particularly the kind of garbage that won't biodegrade for another seventy years or so), I try to call them out on it. No pity.

    I don't litter.
I work for the city doing horticulture work, and I hate picking garbage up in plant beds and parking lots.
    Not cool!

The only thing I ever throw on the ground is paper products (rarely) and compostable items.

I'll admit that I used to litter. I've since grown up.

However, if I'm carrying something that is biodegradable, I'll probably throw it into a garden bed if there's one near me.

I never litter, as in throwing non-degradable stuff. Normally I just stuff things into my pockets or backpack. I sometimes pick up trash. Today, I just returned a rental car, and I threw away a lot of trash that the previous driver left.

I actually don't litter too much at all. Not going to act like I haven't though. What bugs me is when people randomly spit on the floor.

    1) I think littering is detestable.
    2) If I litter by accident, for example, by losing a few receipts in a strong wind, I'm embarrassed with myself. :frowning2:

littering is something that i will have a very hard time forgiving someone for.

i used to have a job just picking up garbage around a business for a couple hours once a week. it made me really hate people who litter, and not just because i was the one having to pick it up. it completely ruined the plants, and just made the city look disgusting. also, people drop some nasty stuff.

never pick up garbage for money. no matter the pay. just... don't do it.

I hate littering. It's one of my strong pet peeves about smokers. (Have known only a single one in all my years that wasn't also a litterbug.) :bang:
