I sure as hell am. We are likely to have a woman running for president in 2016. It is likely Hillary Clinton. Despite your opinion of her though, do you support the idea of a woman running?

The sexism will be huge come 2016 if a woman runs. I'm just curious what everyone has to say.

If she is the best candidate for it, then of course.

I plan on donating to the "Ready For Hillary" PAC when the time arises, although I'd like Liz Warren to possibly run too.

My personal favorite candidate in 2016 is Bernie Sanders.

2nd Edit: I don't see why anyone but a sexist wouldn't be ready for a woman who represented their views as well as a man.

Yep, I'm ready. My personal choice would be Elizabeth Warren (D), though I'd certainly vote for Hillary. I could never vote for a Republican, female or otherwise, at this juncture in their party platform/ideology. They're just too cray from science to religion to gay rights to education to energy to transportation...out of touch.

Yes I love Warren. She isn't a corporate sell out but she wouldn't win IMO. Neither would Bernie IMO.

    I don't see why anyone wouldn't be...

I care about how competent the president is, not their gender.

No one thought Barack could beat Hillary in the primaries in '08 though, remember? Politics is a wide open game.

    The sexism has already begun...

I'd be interested to see whether we will get any 'no's on this question. I thought about choosing it just to be facetious, but decided to protect myself in case a random radical feminist on EC wasn't a fan of sarcasm.

This is true, but Warren is WAY TOO left of center to even be considered a contender for President. Much like Palin is too far to the right (although she'd be one of my picks for President).

I would vote for Elizabeth Warren 2016, no questions asked. If she ran and ended up getting the nomination, of course.

I definitely prefer her over Obama. She tells it as it is. But I'd prefer Clinton overall run.

It isn't like we haven't had presidents that dipped to one side of the spectrum more than normal. Bush 43 was definitely right of center right, and FDR, Truman, and JFK were all progressives (for the time at least).

To be 100% honest, I would vote for Hillary Clinton in a blink of an eye. But something tells me the democrats NEED to be worried about the republican party making a come back. Jeb Bush can easily be put on the ballot, and he's just as strong of an opponent for the republican party as Hillary is for the democratic party. Once again, it can be the Clinton's vs the Bush's. The democrats need to kick it up a notch!

It isn't much of a democratic republic, either.

Yes, but the question is if the country is up for it since the racists came out of the woodwork with Obama.
