I love to run...wrote a tiny little free verse in my mind while I ran tonight

Let me tell you about running. The world isn't nice to you when you run. The weather seeks to destroy you. The road shocks your muscles until your veins pump battery acid. Time makes you chase the impossible. But what the world failed to realize is that it is nowhere near as strong as I am. The weather cannot push me. The road isn't hard enough to harm me. Time isn't enough to fade me. The world cannot conquer me. When I run I am the destroyer of worlds one moment and the absolute center of zen the next. I am a runner

    Any other fitness folks here?

Not much or a runner, more of a lifter. But I do enjoy a leisure run (2 miles in 30 minutes nothing impressive at all). Exercising has it's poetry. I love that burn .

I tried running, but the road was too hard for me! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I prefer biking, and snowboarding. Biking leaves me feeling pretty physically capable sometimes. And snowboarding, when I'm charging down a hill, it's one of the few aspects of life where I can just go HAM freely.

Yeah! The best wake up call for me is a nice 5 mile run. It's an escape for me.

Not at the moment, but I've already ran 4 half-marathons and countless 5Ks. Will strive to run another half marathon in November and a full in February.

Just finished my first half in three years. I am really happy to be running regularly again.

I run, but that doesn't make me a runner :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Over short distances though, it is invigorating and even pleasant.

What a piece, Foxface! I find inspiration in your words of strength.

I'm a runner, but right now, I'm on a left knee injury--patellofemoral stress syndrome. So I still think I have another two weeks before I can run again. I'm making sure to use the elliptical trainer instead. It's bullshit, but it's almost not bullshit when I put the resistance near maximum. At least I sweat a lot. But it's just not the same. It's not running. It's some weird-ass resistance training/ anaerobic thingy...

Anyway, I love running because it feels like a very feminine thing, and it helps me feminize my body. It's also a warrior thing to do, and I definitely want to be a fighter.

I am definitely not a runner. Every time I go running it seems like torture to me :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: . In contrast, I think weight lifting is incredible. I find it relaxing and like the sore/accomplished feeling that I get afterwards. Despite my aversion to running though, it is important to have good cardio, so I'm going to try to get into a routine of doing it this summer.

I used to run on a regular basis. Been meaning to get back into it - at least that's my goal for this spring/summer.

I don't run but I jog. I only started to do it 2 weeks ago. I also do stair walking which I think is more efficient than jogging. The way I see it, this is my way to be alone for a while and it makes me ponder on the things I have done in my life.

I would want to do lifting as well but I'm just really anxious and shy about going to the gym.

To be honest, I run to train for running events so that I can get the free swag at the running expos and the shirts that say I'm better than you because I woke up at 7AM on a Sunday to run 13.1 miles to raise money for [insert random charity here]. Moral superiority is the best kind.

Honestly, I lost interest in running in elementary school. If in PE we ran a test with improved time vs the last test we got an award. One time I did NOT get the award, and lost interest in running.

In junior high, running was just one more hellish part of PE. (No reward. You do the distance, or take a hit on your grade for the day.)

These days, my more vigorous exercise is swimming. Swimming bonus: seeing guys wearing a Speedo.

No, at that point, I'm a person who hopes she has an AR-15 with a full magazine.

Yes, absolutely terrible at it, but I do run. Getting slowly better as I do.
