White roses. They have a special significance to me, and a homely feel.

I love roses, white roses are my favorites to be exact.

Although, I also like foxgloves, not that you'll see them in a bouquet or anything like that.

Hostas, although thats more due to the leaf/plant.

I like anything "alien" looking: aquilegias, foxgloves, lupins, red hot pokers, irises, crocosmia (although they are a bugger for spreading) etc.

OMG, I love tulips too! I used to pilfer them from a neighbor's garden when I was a kid so I could give them to my mother. I was a naughty little girl.

I am just getting familiar with flowers because I've had to plant some, so I got "on the spot" training at nurseries in big box places here in the States.

I would have to say it would be azaleas and rhododendrons. I've often seen them next to or near large evergreens and the combination is quite nice. I just learned there are even orange azaleas. It was weird to see one. I always thought they were red, purple, or some shade of blue.

Another flower that is very nice is the poppy. It is indigenous to Mediterranean climate zones. When in bloom in California, and across wide expanses, they make for a sight to see, especially since they generally contrast their drier backdrops.

I do not like roses. I've been had by the thorns when cutting them back.

I also do not care for tulips. They look too manufactured and perfect. Also, they are a delicate plant, based on having ruined more than one or two by walking too close to them (actually, ON them).

I have seen some other really cool flowers, but I do not know their names. There is currently one in the garden that is really nice. *looking at tag* It is called an apricot twist. (Sounds more like a croissant).
