Hi, The recent elections in the UK have shown strong support for UKIP, however, I have heard from my boyfriend that they do not support gay marriage and are homophobic? Is this the case?
"Storms and floods caused by gay marriage" http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-25793358 "Physical education prevents people from becoming gay" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pol...andidate-PE-prevents-people-becoming-gay.html "UKIP youth leader sacked for supporting gay marriage" http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...cked-for-supporting-gay-marriage-8444330.html
Yes, UKIP is a party of authoritarian individuals who want to cause great suffering. I would advise getting the word out on that.
Ukip are a bunch of narrow minded morons. Plus, why would you want to vote for a party that really only has one agenda...to get the UK out of Europe. I mean granted, they have tacked on some other low priority garbage to their manifesto, but they are pretty much only really about the one thing. As for the anti gay marriage approach, yes I've heard that too. I don't know if they would try to overturn the gay marriage laws but they would be treading on very rocky ground if they did. Anyone who has had a same sex marriage would basically be told that their marriage isn't real anymore. How offensive is that.... Happy days
Yes, they are homophobes. That seriously isn't the worst thing about them. It's important to look beyond one's own immediate circumstances to the wider issue.
Some of the views expressed by UKIP are very narrow minded. I dont believe they are a party that can win at general elections. They have no real policies worth voting on. As for gay marriage i think if they tried to over rule it then it would cause alot of problems for the party.
Yup! But luckily I don't think them winning this election will affect a lot at all! It's next years election we need to be worried about!
UKIP are a bunch of loons. I honestly think though that people are voting for their stance on the EU (which is also loony), and not for their views on gay marriage/execution etc.
There are some ugly characters in UKIP. Adding to Ridiculous' tally, there's just been news of a dismissal of a newly elected UKIP councillor for racist remarks. Thing is, people are willing to overlook this because they feel so ignored by the other parties and they feel UKIP is their only outlet for a strongly anti-EU policy. They'll die out after a couple of GEs I should think, unless the main parties really screw up.
I don't think they're homophobic, I've never experienced anything negative from UKIP members and activists. Their MEP for Scotland is openly gay and has been with his partner for 30 years. Is he homophobic? I don't think so.
