I just wanted to share as I'm so happy. I just finished my last exam today. Although that may not seem that exciting in it's self let me tell you why I'm so happy. I've been studying for 10 years straight now doing 2 degrees back to back. During the first 7 years I did my physics degree all in my own time whilst working a full time job and having 2 children. When I completed that I did my current degree full time this time. During my seconde degree I've been in and out of hospitals with my youngests asthma, and to many appointments regarding my oldests autism. On top of that my wife and I separated and I've been a single parent since. I also had to then finally come to terms with my bisexuality and have been going through the coming out process since which has added extra stress on my revision. I've been through so much but can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have a job lined up for after results day. I'm so happy I could almost burst out crying. :tears: Happy days everyone
Wow! And here I was moaning about having two exams tomorrow! What you've done sounds inspirational. Many congratulations
Oh wow, this is truly tremendous news! You should be so incredibly proud of yourself. Hell, I'm proud of you. Even with so much on your plate, you were able to earn not one, but two degrees... and back to back at that. You're an inspiration. I hope you have some sort of treat/reward/celebration lined up for yourself because you certainly deserve it. Good luck in everything you do, and congratulations
Wow, give yourself a pat (or a smack, given how much you've dealt with haha) on the back for finishing the exam. You've had a lot on your plate, so celebrating is well deserved. Congrats
Congratulations! I've always found students who are also parents to be the hardest working and most "on top of things."
Thanks for all the nice comments so far guys. You are all really such a great bunch (&&&) I have two weeks of elective placements left (my degree is in radiography) and then I have 3 weeks off. The indoor snow ski slope near me do a learn to snowboard in a day thing. I've thought about learning to do that as a treat (if I can afford it). Happy days
Fantastic news and a great example of endurance through some really tricky times. Would have been so easy to say sod it and give up, but you stuck at it and now have the reward for your effort. If you want to have a good cry, go for it.. I know I would. Think I'd be an emotional wreck at the end of all that (just the thought of a physics degree makes me go cold). Really pleased for you and I'd definitely treat yourself to the snowboarding. Guess it really is Happy days
Enormous congratulations! Sounds like you are a caring father who still fights for himself. That combination is awesome and impressive! Best of luck to you and of course you deserve a treat! I promise your kids will approve as well!
