Default Pirateninja's French Adventure

Well, there we are, I'm back. (You have no idea just how much I missed this place)

So, armed with a bag of belongings and a daft straw hat, I flew out on the Tuesday, and was greeted by a scorching heatwave in the Dordoyne. The heat there reached a high of 45 degrees centigrade, not good for someone like me who rarely gets out in English sunshine. So I've come back with a bit of a tan

And so with my South Park DVDs keeping me sane from terrible EC withdrawal symptoms, I set out across the Dordoyne, exploring the caves of Grotte de Villiars (which we nicknamed "Grotty Villars") and it took a lot of restraint to stop myself from shouting "Manbearpig lives here! I'm super serial!".

As well as this, there was something called Acrobois, where there were assault courses up in the trees and, naturally, I had to have a go. Although, just a word of warning, a whole day of climbing trees gives you severe arm-ache the day afterwards, and I still have some bruises from where I hit a tree while swinging on a Tarzan rope. (Photographs coming soon )

We also arrived in time for the village's agricultural festival, where they get out all the old farming machinery and cut the corn in the fields (Again, I had another desire to shout out something South Park related; "Nice lookin' corn, and next years will be even better. RECTUS! DOMINUS!"; but yet again, I managed to stop myself)

And from the same festival I manged to purchase 3 bottles of Bordeaux Superieur 2002 Seriously, if you ever manage to get your hands on some of this, do. It's orgasmic. It being France I manged to sample quite a few brands (Madrian Laplace 2000, Vin du Pays d'Oc 2006 being the main ones) However the 2000 was very sedimenty, which I can't stand, and the 2006 was quite sharp and takes an aquired taste. The 2002 is a beautiful blend of tangy fruitiness that makes a red wine, and yet has a certain sublety of a white. I've even taken the liberty of labelling the bottle with a warning ("Holly's Wine; Do NOT drink, or castration with a spoon with be imminent"). Harsh, yes, but the wine is brilliant.

Honestly, I think the holiday has tripled my alcohol tolerance; the only time I didn't have something alcoholic was when time deemed it "too early" for alcohol according to my mom's boyfriend, and so in these times I drank Coca Cola. As we stopped for a drink for most of the day I was usually either drunk or on a sugar high, or a highly amusing mixture of both.

And for the last couple of days I have been travelling back in my mom's boyfriend's car (called Doris), from the Dordoyne to St Malo, and just yesterday from St Malo to home. A cramped car is not a pleasant place to be stuck for two days, however with the prospects of returning to EC, and a techno remix of "I'm not your fwiend, buddy" blaring in my ears, I managed to not complain too much.

So, what did I miss?

Yay, welcome back! 45 degrees is a killer! I love the label you put on the wine - you sure mean business, don't you?

Well, I've just gotten back myself, but welcome back!
It sounds like you got the hot weather that I missed
while I was away in a colder climate.
The wine label made me laugh. I'll be sure not
to mess with your wine, then.

Bad news Holly. While you were gone Paul sold EC's rights to Fred Phelps and his CRAZZEH Church. So now this is a homosexual lifestyle converstion forum. We are all now learning how to be "Normal" and "Proper to god."

Oh and we are now sponsered by Coke Cola who is also sponsering the Olympics.
