Default Isaac Hayes, 1942 - 2008

As a diehard South Park Fan, you can imagine my dismay when I logged onto http://www.southparkstudios.com/ to find this banner:

Isaac Hayes, voice of Jerome "Chef" McElroy, also known once as Abdul Mohammed Jabar-Raouf Kareem Ali in the episode "Chef goes Nanners" died on 10th August 2008.

Naturally, I searched to find a thread on EC, and upon finding none decided I should make one. And I am very pleased to see that although Hayes stopped voicing Chef after a dispute with a Scientology episode, that the Studios have not neglected in their remembrance of him.

We will always have the episodes, and the songs that are always aboot having sex with women. Chef was definitely an integral part of South Park, and his voice actor will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Isaac Hayes.

And to finish, I will use this scene from the tragic and yet still hilarious episode "The Return of Chef".

I wasn't really a huge SP fan, but it's sad that so many of the great entertainers have died this year. Ledger, Carlin, Mac, and now Hayes are all gone.

The sales of Soul Men tickets will shoot through the roof now.

I heard about this. very sad indeed. It was sad enough him leaving sp so you can imagine how sp fans are affected.

What's all this stuff about choice? You are the way you are and no one can tell you contrary to what you know in your heart.

This is sad.

I loved him as "The Duke Of New York" in Escape From New York.
