Just wondering...I am one myself and I take a lot of pride in it. I love playing from my Lord of the Rings music book...oh, and I also play piccolo. And a little bit of tin whistle. My thoughts are obviously organized. I just write them as they come to me. XD
I played the flute back in band around late elementary school/early middle school and liked it(though I think I only picked it because of how portable it was, heh  ). I originally wanted to play the piccolo but it was really tough to play/get sound out of, so I upgraded a little. I don't know how my brother managed to carry around his Tuba...that thing took up a bus seat by itself... :l
Pfft! Tubas...they sound like farts, but they definitely play and important role in band. Also, did you try to play piccolo before flute? Because that's almost impossible. The piccolo is so hard to play because of the amount of air it requires. Its twice as hard as the flute to make a sound, not to mention to make the sound somewhat pretty...
I can, but I don't really- I'm not very good, as it's actually my sister's instrument (and piccolo and tin whistle). I play clarinet and I sing for our school band thingy. Like all my friends play flute, though.
I played the flute in marching band in high school, but I'm sorry to say that I haven't played in years. I should probably start playing it again...
I play the Indian flute. My friend plays western classical flute but she won't let me touch it, she says I already play too many instruments for my own good and I steal her thunder she just taught me how to play an A in case I ever need to tune it but she refuses to let me touch it any more than that I play tin whistle too.
Yes! I've played since 6th grade; though, I switched to oboe in 10th grade. That was way back in 2000, so I've been playing for 14 years! I take my flute on all my trips to visit family. I also have a tin whistle and a few Carnatic style Indian flutes. Indian flute is tough to learn.
I started playing flute when I was about nine and I've been playing since. It's probably one of my favorite things to do because I've met so many great people through it via private lessons and the school band. As of now, I've been playing for almost six years. So it's then hobby I've stuck with the longest out of eveything I've tried. I'm trying to play the piccolo but honestly, I'm not very good at it xD
I can play (classical) flute, but I rarely do. I mostly do jazz stuff, and flutes are less useful than saxophones there.
I've played flute for seven years. Definitely one of my favorite instruments. I tried piccolo a few times, but being that shrill never suited me. If you get the chance to duet with someone in your free time, I'd recommend Little Fugue in G Minor. It's probably my favorite piece when done on flute, for both playing and listening.
I used to play the flute for several years, but then I started playing piano at the same time and writing several compositions, I tried playing recently, and I have lost all my skill.
I've played some flute years ago but dropped it.. wish I hadn't.. now that I discovered folk metal Would love to play along to some songs.
Yeah, I tried to play it before the flute without actually knowing it would be so tough to play; I guess it figures because of how scrawny I was/am, heh.
Flute for six years - concert and marching band and two regional festivals Piccolo for two years although I still am not that great. I actually have my first audition ever on Sunday for a local wind ensemble (totally not panicking) I'm playing Badinerie by Bach for it.
