I started reading but that fucking first paragraph...

That will sum it up when ... If ... I come out to my mom.

Too much of a trigger. (I know what it will end with and yes, the grieving process is part of it, I just hate how it starts with that....)

She is an excellent example of a parent who gives unconditional love for her son. Thanks for sharing the article

The article is excellent. Its honest. Many of the comments are absolutely atrocious.

What a great article. I like that she not only does she give hope to people that parents can come around in the greatest way possible, but she also says to other parents, it is totally okay to have a transgender child, and that in the end the happiness of the child is the most important thing.

    Such a neat story!

My friend and I just read this. So moving!!!
Also we had to look up puberty blockers...that was my friend's idea. We've been alternating between baking and researching gender changing ever since. XD

I think that she is a great mom, but I disagree with the notion that Grace is dead. "She" never really existed in the first place, he was always Chris.

I thought the whole story was beautiful and full of emotion. The only thing I didn't like was the idea that Grace is "dead" because "she" never really existed. If I were in his position, that statement would have really hurt me. Other than that, I love the end of the story.
