Since we have people from many parts of the world Im curious to know what is your local delicacy where you are from?

Where I live we are known for our chili. Its unlike chili from anywhere else though. Here are chili is eaten as a topping and not in a dish of its self. We put our chili on top of spaghetti, hot dogs, and potatoes. We then usually top it with lots of cheese and for some add beans, onion or mustard.

We are known for our coney dogs, whitefish, and Greek food. Being that we also have a large, growing Middle Eastern population, we also have plenty of Mediterranean restaurants in my area.

I'm not sure. Down here, most of us love Menudo and Caldo.

Here, people live by the belief that frying something automatically makes it 100x better. I even had fried oreos at a local community fair once. And, of course, there's a special place in our hearts for fried chicken. I've yet to go to any kind of gathering where fried chicken wasn't present.

I would think steak for Texas. My dad went to a place outside San Antonio where they had steer in the back, and he told me they were some of the thickest steaks he had ever had.

Well, anything that comes from cattle would be our delicacy .

Yes, even in Mexican food, brisket tacos are very popular.

  11. Really good cheese. And fantastic beer.

Other than Harley Davidson motorcycles and having a lot of cows, those are the two things my home is known for

We have awesome bagels baked in wood-fire ovens and smoked-meat sandwiches (smoked meat, sort of like pastrami, but not).

Ribs, or brisket ... anything that can be barbecued or dressed with barbecue can be considered the state food and thus a delicacy

Cheese curds. My former co-worker was from Wisconsin. Loved those things.

Eastern Massachusetts has some of the freshest seafood in the world, and nothing quite like a fresh Maine Lobster...

I can't think of any other native delicacy than kangaroo meat in Canberra (which is usually culled in surrounding NSW and brought in, as far as I know). We don't grow many fruits and we have no sea. Most food here is Southern and Eastern Asian and Southern and Western European.

At one point I guess it was eels, but we tend not to bother with them anymore...
