If you had the opportunity to invite 5 guests to a dinner part, regardless of whether or not they were alive, or even real. Who would you choose and why? I've seen such questions asked before, and , in my opinion, can often lead to reflections regarding the respondent's personality.

    I would choose:
Andy Samberg- Hilarious, erudite, and cute
Margaret Cho- Funniest comedienne ever and contentious, to the hilt.
Karl Pilkington- A British "comic" with a "head like a f**king orange".
Jesus- The most generic answer :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: So as to find out what really happened.
Ayn Rand- Despite disagreeing with her views, I've always found her to be a most interesting specimen.

    1) Kurt Cobain- He seemed like an interesting guy, and I'd like a better understanding of all the things he went through. Also, with celebrities it would be interesting what stuff the media made up and what was true. Plus he hated homophobes

    2) Michael Jackson

    3) I'm stealing Jesus :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:, just to find out what stuff was suppose to be taken literally and figuratively in the bible

    4)John Lennon

    5) My grandma. If it doesn't matter whether they're dead or alive, why would I pass an opportunity to see my grandma?

Isaac Newton- Would be fascinating to talk to such an intelligent person.
Jim Parsons- Just played the character of Sheldon brilliantly, and seems like a nice person.
    Ellen DeGeneres- Awesome woman.
    Eminem- I like his music.
Vladimir (League of Legends)- He's badass, and can get rid of any unwanted guests

Masamune Date, 1567-1636: Masamune appeared to be ahead of the curve, when it came to Japanese politics and social events. I can also relate to the hardships he had to endure with his parents and clan. I think he'd be a fascinating individual to hold a conversation with, especially since he was an awesome tactician and an elegant speaker.

Jesus: I feel kind of bad for not being original, but I'm curious as to his stance on various issues and topics. I'm also intrigued by what he would have to say about the world we live in. Basically, I think he could bring a lot to the dinner conversation... I'd also want to see him turn water into wine, LOL.

Huey P. Newton, 1942-1989: One half of the founding force of the Black Panthers. I've always been interested in Afro-American or African socio-political issues, and I believe Huey P. Newton could provide for a riveting conversation. I was torn between him and Malcolm X, but I have a feeling Newton would bring a lot of the same force as Malcolm X, so it works out. Also, his dealings with the law would resonate with myself, and would provide another perspective to any topics we discussed.

Napoleon Bonaparte, 1769-1821: Often considered one of the greatest tacticians and leaders in history. I'd bring Napoleon to the dinner because, well, I'm sure he'd have some unique opinions. I would also want to get a better idea of his ambitions, and his true feelings. Much of what he did came when, after so many outstanding and rapid successes, he succumbed to megalomania. This, too, is something I would want to be around. I often have a paranoid feeling I, too, will succumb to this if provided the resources or power. By subjecting myself to this, I like to believe I could be better prepared. On top of that, I kind of want to play Chess with Napoleon, to see where I'd stand.

Grigori Rasputin, 1869-1916: One of the most bizarre and perverse individuals. But it is because of these two things that he'd also, like the others, bring a unique perspective to the dinner. I'd also want to know more about his mystic powers, and his dealings with life in general. While he was a known womanizer, and this is a terrible thing, it would be fascinating to get to know why he acted as he did. Also, I'd want to see a mystic duel between Jesus and Rasputin.

After looking at this list, I realized. I don't have any women. Under normal circumstances, I'd have them. But when you have to only pick 5, from anyone, dead or alive, it's rather difficult.

Yoda-- wisdom, and being a frickin' Jedi master.

Carl Sagan-- Rarely is somebody with such a brilliant mind able to make his world accessible to laypeople. Too often scientists get represented as lost in theory and data, but Carl could talk about all the magic we have discovered to be real.

Ralph Waldo Emerson-- I really love his philosophy and would soak up all he had to talk about when it came to transcendentalism.

Ernest Hemingway-- one of the undisputed masters of literature, and a stone-cold badass. His stories would enthrall everybody.

Emma Watson-- Sweet baby Jesus, what's not to love?

    1. Mitch Hedberg-I love one liner humor, and we could just run 1 liner jokes past each other all night.
    2. Jesus-Obvious reasons.
    3. Ron Paul-He's my political role model. He fosters what little sense of idealism I still have.
    4. Bono from U2-Need some good music, and he could sing "40" to Jesus.
    5. MLK-I want to hear what he thinks of our world now.

    I can't choose five, so I'll choose six :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    Epicurus
    Jesus
    Buddha
    Da Vinci
    Newton
    Thoreau

Not sure it would make for a good dinner setting(although they're all worthy and admirable people), but these are people I would want to talk with generally.

    1. My great grandmother - she passed away when I was fifth grade but was one of the most inspiring people I ever met
    2. TC (my mentor) - he passed away a couple months ago from colon cancer, it went extremely quick and I would kill for a couple last words with him
    3. Ellen DeGeneres - she is hilarious, kind, and one of my idols
    4. Anna Kendrick - she is gorgeous and hilarious
    5. Shane Koyczan - because I love his work

    1) Christopher Hitchens. He's one of my idols and his books have helped shaped the way I think about the world, sadly I'll never meet him in real life as he's dead but it would be awesome to have him as a hypothetical dinner guest.
    2) Kevin Shields. My all time music hero and king of shoegazing and would probably have a few funny tales to tell after a few glasses of wine.
    3) Che Guevara. He's always fascinated me and I would have loved to have met him personally.
    4) Stephen Fry AKA the perfect dinner guest. He's simply charming.
    5) Zeus. I've felt sorry for him in recent times as he's being overtaken by thousands of other "Gods". I also imagine he'd have a controversial sense of humour.

Nice one. I still wonder what happened to her.

Hmm in that case I can add Marilyn Monroe and Jack the Ripper to the list.

Only 5 dinner guests...seems slight, but here goes:

    1. Winston Churchill: arguably the finest and most entertaining pol of the last 100 plus years.

    2. Oscar Wilde: great wit, talent, and one does want a bit of color.

    3. Jesus: guest of honor - the ultimate guest...and I read His wine was pretty good.

    4. Marie Antoinette: so beautiful and so tragic...she deserves a night out.

    5. Wallis Simpson: chic and scandalous.

I'm not sure there is room for my house for five dinner guests, but here I go.
Nikola Tesla, as he is one of the few inventors I truly admire
Doctor who, incase of dalek attack.
Malcolm Reynolds from firefly, because he's a badass.
Barack Obama, so I can tell people I had dinner with the president, and that he likes my lemon tofu.
I know everyone has been saying this, but I really would love to meet Jesus outside my prayers. I'd like to know where he really stands on todays issues, I'd bet all of my money that if he affiliates with any political viewpoint, he's a liberal.
