I have a question I am serious about...

How would I go about adopting a Joey (baby kangaroo) to live with me in the USA?

They're illegal as pets here, let alone over there. It's a bad idea, anyway, unless you have a relatively warm climate, a lot of land, and import food they can eat (preferably grown where it can get it fresh). Furthermore, kangaroos can escape easily, or at least harm themselves severely in the attempt, as well as having a very dangerous kick (it's not funny) which can maim or kill people or other pets/livestock.

It'd need more health checks. In an un-native climate, with un-native plants, isolated (don't separate kangaroo families), it would have to be cared for very well. However, unlike in Australia, there aren't groups which have veterinarians who specialise in Australian wildlife.

It may be cute as a Joey, but you'd be unable to manage it once it grew up. I'd say you shouldn't try it. My father had a pet kangaroo (he found an injured joey when he was young, but they had to give it up after only a year for multiple reasons). It's just not a good idea.

I figured. I still want one. Going to go to the zoo to look at them in a few weeks.

Kangaroos are scary, I got punched by one when I was like 10. In Australia they are rarely almost never kept as pets. They also get really big when they grow up. So, no you can't have one as a per or shouldn't they are a wild animal.

There's so many stories of people being hurt by kangaroos even killed. Definately not a good idea plus it would need a heap of space. If you love roos so much maybe there's one that you could sponsor?
