If you won or were given a million dollars (tax free) what would you do with it?

After converting it to British Pounds  ... I'd pay off the mortgage and invest the money so I could quit my day job. I'd then dedicate my time to some voluntary work that I'm passionate about.

I have a friend who could put that money to much better use than I could, I'd give it to him,

Get through uni without debt. Help my parents out with their financial troubles. And I guess, once I've figured out what I want to do with my life, and where to do it, I'd get a house. If I have any left over, I suppose I'd give it to charity then.

I'd spend many years travelling different parts of the world that I've always wanted to visit (Mainly Iceland, the Galapagos Islands, central Africa, India and New Zealand) I'd also pay for my University education and a small flat to save my parents from having to do so and whatever is left I'd donate to charity or just give to a random homeless person in the street.

Buy my dad a nice car and then invest the rest until I'm out of uni and put it towards starting my own charity when i turned around 30

Pay off my car, the house loan, spend a bit of it on Amazon, and just save the rest

I'm not sure I'd need that much money, I suppose I'd give a good amount of it away, about 20-30%. I'd buy a new spinning wheel, and a modest house. Then I'd just use the money to live normally I suppose.

I would give a bit to my parents, buy myself a small house, start my own business and invest the rest.

Edit: I thought this was what are you thinking. xD

Uhm, I would pay off all my debts, buy a car, buy a condo or some shit, save the rest and keep working.

I'd spend the first $500,000 on building a feminist charity to help prevent rape and help give women in third world countries access to education. I'd spend $250,000 on my college education, so I can get a high paying job and expand the charity. I'd save the remaining $250,000 for myself, so I won't have to live off food stamps or worry about keeping a roof over my head ever again.

I would use it to quit my job and focus 100% on school. Sadly a million isn't as much as much as it used to be and I can't really go out a visit impoverish countries but I will one day on my own dime.

    Simple:

    1. Pay off debts.
    2. Invest
    3. Try to live off the interest, and do volunteer work, or continue teach wth the knowledge I had "go to hell" money when and if I ever chose leave.

Travel travel and then travel some more, then when all the money runs out I would start a new life wherever I would end up.

I'd give it to charities that I know wouldn't keep any for themselves, there are some notable ones that keep around 60%+ of what you give them.

    Give 20% to my mother
Give 10% to my friend so he can invest in stocks for me
Give 5% to my sponsor child's village
    Put 20% in the bank
Put 10% into fixing the house
Use 10% on holidays and do voluntary work
And the remaining 25% to friends who need it

    1. Buy my mom and dad a apartment by the beach (That's what they want)
    2. Give some to charity
    3. Buy a few Locomotives and Private railroad cars.

    - move (somewhere warm, ideally near water, scenic, slower pace)
    - learn to cook better and healthier
    - get into fitness on a more routine basis and spend more time outdoors
    - volunteer and donate with and to charities that mean something to me, and try to focus more on others
    - find neighbors or people in a similar situation to have coffee with and get a pet or two

Absolutely nothing extravagant. I'd actually be simplifying things.
