So the event attracted only 1,500 people, out of the 300 million in the US? As far as DC protests go, this isn't exactly an impressive number. Odd, I work really close to where it happened, and it didn't even register as a blippitt on the local NPR news, or get any kind of broad coverage.

Maybe next year, we can organize a counter-protest. I think it would be relatively easy to get 15,000 out in opposition to them, if not more. The main issue is this: Do we really want to give them a brighter spotlight? It may be better just to leave them as they are: more or less ignored. Though a counter-protest could be very fun...

I'm quite comfortable with this really. The planet is heavily overpopulated, and as this protest kindly demonstrates, most of us are arseholes anyway.

Regarding the bolded, does anyone know what the hell he's talking about?

I'm sure he literally threw people in jail, haha what a bunch of dumdums. Whatever he's talking about there is twisted reality to fit his agenda just like everything else they say.

As for Romney ushering in marriage in MA, another lie. This guy clearly doesn't understand our governmental system, which is typical. Marriage came to MA through the court ruling in Goodridge v. Dept. of Public Health that the marriage ban was unconstitutional. At least that's my understanding of it.

As usual they focus on anal sex. They never talk about lesbians and they don't acknowledge that straight couples engage in anal sex. In reality not all gay guys have anal sex and I estimate that most of the sexual interactions between gay men are things other than anal sex. Maybe they're ok with oral sex, mutual masturbation, frottage, etc so they don't condemn those. The reason they only talk about anal sex is they know it is a popular thing to ridicule. They want people to make the connection that anal sex is bad, all gay people do is have anal sex, so therefor they shouldn't be allowed to get married. None of that is true nor logical, but since when does truth and logic matter to them?

It's a losing battle for those ignorant and hateful people. There isn't exactly a serious shortage of straight people. Heterosexuality isn't gonna be diluted and eventually replaced by LGBT. They're getting their knickers in a twist because they're misguided.

Slippery slope arguments and fear mongering. They attack weak spots because many people own a pet dog and/or cat and plenty people value their pets more than humans. Yeah, you don't want the evil gay people getting it on with Fido, so please join our hateful protest! The manipulation is pathetic. Hah, it's either that or they try to disgust their sheeple followers by telling them that incest (closer than cousins) will soon be legalised. There's a HUGE difference between LGBT and bestiality. I personally think the most offensive tactic is when they call us all rapists and child-abusers. They should be ashamed of themselves.

It's awesome if people are told about sadomasochism. It's dangerous to leave it in the dark. More (accurate, I hope) information and education = increased safety. As if straight people never indulge in SM! Do they even know that gay guys don't have to be into SM to obtain their 'gay cards'? I'm desensitised and don't see the shock in many sexual activities. I often forget that some people are grossed out and losing sleep over adults having consensual fun.

They're almost certainly incredibly ignorant about sex in general if they actually believe that anal sex leads to diapers. If you aren't careful or you're extremely unlucky, you can suffer penile fracture during sexual intercourse, even in the missionary position. So there, bigots! I'm concerned about safety and consent! If people are cautious with their fisting, whatever, it's their thing. Who am I to judge them when my expression of love draws blood? Hell, safety should be my middle name, along with "you f**king tease!"

Sex isn't inherently evil and sadomasochists usually aren't serial killers. It hurts my precious little feelings when people vilify one of my greatest passions. To even mention it so closely to raping animals... rargh! Alright, I feel better now xD

It always makes me laugh when they focus on anal sex. Statistically, the vast majority of anal sex takes place between straight men and women, something these people conveniently overlook.

The man is clearly unbalanced and delusional. Nobody was thrown in jail. Also, though he did sign the bill, it was also put to a ballot initiative, which passed later that same year. O'Malley would have had to 'twist' literally thousands of arms.

If god made this country as she claims then do we have it to thank for wiping out the native population? Despite our 'boom sticks' the natives outnumbered our settlers vastly and if it wasn't for us introducing disease like smallpox this continent would still belong to the people who were here first.

Very interesting. I think some of the pro-discrimination folks would see everything that Europeans did to defeat the Native Americans as sent from God to create this country. It's crazy if they think that God would not have destroyed everyone for all the murders, rapes, adultery and abuse, but will surely destroy us because some people fell in love with each other and want to be treated fairly and equally in our society.:eusa_doh:
