It seems like more people would want to live a comfortable life, but in our media we always see people in constant action who may or may not survive. I think some parts of most people want to live that kind of life, but I wonder how many. Which would you prefer?

In between. I'd like to travel, explore new things... But I'd also like to have some stability.

Need they be mutually exclusive? Comfort punctuated with thrill sounds quite pleasant.

Both. Exploring the world in a stupendously huge luxury yacht represents both thrill and comfort.

Thrill is nice but overall I like comfort better

  7. I guess it depends on whether we're talking about mental or physical thrill/comfort.

I am much more likely to want to live a life of relative physical comfort (roof above my head, food to eat, clothes to wear, the comforts of home without having to worry too terribly much about all that, etc) but also mental or emotional thrill. Ideally I would be physically comfortable for at least most of my life, but mentally I would like to question my long-held beliefs, engage in my passions, learn new things all the time and not be afraid to be wrong or take risks.

In between. If I had to pick, probably the thrilling.

    Comfort, by far.

In comfort, I could better plan for any thrills I seek. If my life was a constant action flick, I wouldn't have time for comfort.

Sorry. I'm not normally greedy, but damn it, if I see a way to get two perks from one -- I'm taking it, lol.

I've never been able to afford much in the way of comfort, so I've had to make do with thrill, by and large, at least since I was in college, and the 'easy' years ended, looking back on matters.

An equal mixture would be nice, but comfort is an increasingly costly proposition.

Comfort--although I'm glad I haven't always felt that way. I was all about the thrill for a long time. Then in my late twenties I came to a realization that I had come to value excitement over actual happiness--it actually came to me after rereading Madame Bovary--and that it was perhaps not the most constructive thing. While I'm glad I have sort of moved on from that phase of my life I'm really glad I had it--and that I survived--it was an amazing ride.

    Definitely a balance of both.

I absolutely love comfort--I probably don't take enough time to be comfortable--but without some thrill mixed in too I'm afraid it might get a little boring.
