After everything that's come up with Hobby Lobby, I've decided I can not, in good conscience, shop at Hobby Lobby any longer.

Where can I shop at instead?

This sounds reasonable. I proposed in the other thread something about hitting them in the wallet, and it seems like a good idea.

I knew something was wrong when the past few years, all I've heard was religious music over the speakers. I haven't gone there in a long time and won't go again.

Huh, I've never seen one around here, but I'd also never go to one.

I only went there to buy some fleece for a project in high school and the supplies for my homemade gay pride necklace because of closeness. Other then that, I never shop at Hobby Lobby anyway. I don't see the reason for boycotting an eatery or a place of business. Yes, I'm aware of what they do and I don't really agree with it for good measure but they have the right to do whatever as HL is within a "free" country. By that same token, we have ...

Where I'm going with this is gonna end up backfiring on me so I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Hobby Lobby is owned by a family of conservative Christians who are ignorant, homophobic bigots. They sued the US government because they did not want to be forced to provide contraceptive care to their employees by the new ACA law. (Never mind the fact that their existing insurance for their employees already provided it.)

The case wound its way to the Supreme Court, and the ignorant, bigoted conservative block of justices (5 out of 9) voted with their religious beliefs instead of with the law and decided that Hobby Lobby could do this. The decision is a disaster and opens up all sorts of unprecedented ways in which corporations can discriminate against employees based on religious beliefs. Combining this with the Citizens United decision that recognizes corporations as people... they have really fucked up the country.

The Supreme Court now has the lowest trust and confidence rating by the public (30%) that it has ever held in all the time such records have been kept.

I have a feeling this action on Hobby Lobby's part is going to have a long-term impact on them. The sad thing is, even if Hobby Lobby changes their mind and stops discriminating against women, the damage is done; there's no way to undo the Supreme Court decision unless another case comes up and enough of the bigoted judges have died or retired to swing the votes the other way.

We have a Michael's and Jo-Ann's Craft Store here, so never even have to go to Hobby Lobby if they move here anyway.

I take birth control for hormonal reasons, without which I would have 2 weeklong heavy bleeding to the point of becoming very ill, miserable periods twice a year. Not to mention that women aren't whores just cause they don't wanna get pregnant
Ignorant people think they know everything

AC Moore, along with Michael's and Joanne's Fabrics which have already been mentioned. AC Moore and Michael's are more arts and crafts, Joanne's more fabric/sewing oriented, though some of their superstores have everything.
