Once upon a time, I found out that people brush their teeth after they eat breakfast!

    SHOCKING.

What are your brushing habits? Is there any particular reason why? Do you think it ties into your culture?

Also, how many times do you brush a day? When? Why? And so on. Haha.

Before. I was taught to do it after, but before is actually better, and it saves me time and effort.

Depends on the day. If I'm going to eat breakfast right away then I'll brush after, if it is gonna be awhile till I eat then before.

See if I always did it before I would often have to wait awhile after I brushed to eat, unless of course I liked that funky taste of eating right after brushing, I don't of course.

Also I brush twice a day, because that's whats best for my teeth I assume.

Oh damn. I pressed the wrong one. I should've voted "other"!! See, if I eat breakfast, it's weekend or holiday, and I don't brush my teeth in the morning. If it's a "normal" morning when I have to go to school, I don't eat breakfast, but I do brush my teeth because of terrible breath after sleep.

I brush afterwards. If I eat after brushing nothing tastes right.

I only actually eat breakfast on weekends though. I usually just have a cup of coffee then brush

Haha! I don't really eat breakfast either. Lately, I've been waking up near noon, so I miss breakfast. It's really unhealthy, but... yeah. Oops.

    Brunch.

That's pretty much me, haha. I once woke up at 2PM and I yelled, "What's for breakfast?" and my parents got so mad at me.

This thread just reminded me that I forgot this morning. Oops... I normally brush my teeth before breakfast, because I'm forgetful and I do most of my getting dressed stuff before breakfast. I usually brush once a day, before breakfast. I was taught to brush twice a day, but I'm lazy and usually forget at night anyway.

Yeah that's so me! My mam's always at work, though, so I go get my breakfast myself, but my sista is the one that looks at me irritatedly and asks "did you really just wake up?"...
But, oh well, I guess it's because last night.... I was awake, and went to actually sleep at 7 in the effing morning! Not too clever, is it?

I use mouthwash in the morning after breakfast. I brush using electric toothbrush before bed also with mouthwash.

In 33 years I've never had a cavity, filling or any other significant dental treatment so I must be doing something right.

    Happy days

I usually skip breakfast, so timing is not an issue :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:.

That said, if I'm having breakfast, it depends where I'm having it. If I'm having it at home, I'll brush a bit after I eat. Orange juice is acidic and I don't want to brush right after I drink that. If I'm going out to pick up breakfast, like when my sister wants McDonald's, I'll swish some Listerine for a clean-smelling mouth, pick up breakfast, and then after I eat I brush my teeth properly. If I'm going out for breakfast and eating out, I'll just brush my teeth before I leave the house.

Same here. When I went to the dentist, they gave me a whole lot of evil eye because I only brushed once a day then. Now I'm trying to brush twice a day. Heheh.

I know what you mean. My sister always does that too. Funny thing, though - sometimes, when I sleep late, I wake up early, and when I sleep early, I wake up late.

Once I stayed up until two, slept for two hours, and woke up feeling like I could run a marathon. I didn't even eat anything weird before I went to sleep. I just woke up energized. LOL.

But yeah. My sleeping habits are weird. My brushing habits, not so much. I did used to brush whenever I felt like it, though. I wasted a lot of toothpaste.

Brushing after eating can actually damage your teeth more since the acid in foods weakens the enamel.

I brush as soon as I wake up and again several times throughout the day. At least four times a day probably.

Yeah, My dentist said that it would be best to wait at least 45minutes after eating before you brush your teeth again, and I believe that one.

before. breakfast is optional, and if it happens, it's usually on the bus where they don't appreciate teeth brushing.

After breakfast, which seems like the logical thing to do.

What's the point of brushing my teeth if I'm gonna eat like two minutes after brushing?! It makes much more sense to brush after eating and brush away all the shit your breakfast left behind.
