No one has really yelled at me for it (yet), but I figured I'll ask anyway:

    Who does it?

    Who minds?

I know it sort of sounds silly, compared to all the sexual terms people use, but yeah.

Personally, I used to always flinch when someone cussed. Now, I don't care, but I can't cuss in real life. It sounds so silly and weird, and apparently, my swearing sounds monotone. :/

I swear somewhat often, but it usually just consists of asshat, asshole, dumbass, bullshit and some variation of fucking. Some of the swear words make me cringe like bitch, cunt, etc.

Ricky gervais updates his status the other week

'Just because your offended doesn't mean your right'. Then said 'f**k off cu***'. Made me laugh.

I think I should've made the thread "Who here doesn't swear, curse, or cuss?" instead...

Interestingly enough, I never swear when I am actually irritated. Comically, I swear all the time.

I use mild swearing in real life, nothing worse than shit. I say fuck a lot in my head. The only words that bother me are hate speech. I would never say N*gger, C*nt, D*ke, F*g, or any others like it. I'm trying to avoid saying the word bitch due to it's use by some as an anti female slur, but it doesn't offend me in the same way as any of those words I listed. I can't even type them out, I censor them as a type. I know some of those words have been reclaimed, but I still wouldn't use them.

I'm the same way about hate speech. I can't type them out either.

Usually, when I cuss, it's to place emphasis on something. I won't litter my sentences with them, because then, it just sounds idiotic. Of course, when I type, I rarely use them. But that has more to do with formality really. However, when I do curse through typing, it tends to get attention.

At the end of the day, as I said in another, older thread dealing with this same topic:

If you're going to cuss, do it with fuckin' class!

Yeah, I cuss. I'm trying to stop that, though.

  14. I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO VOTE NO WHAT IN THE WORLD

Haha, no, I'm not that surprised, everyone seems to curse these days. However, I don't and would like to keep it that way. I don't even say words like heck or darn. The reason I don't is because of my Christianity and plus, when my dad does it, it's sort of scary for me. I feel as though cursing, especially constantly, doesn't reflect God's love and as a Christian, I want people to feel loved by me - And I know that they can be offending to some people, so I don't use them.

Another reason I don't curse is the fact that, well, even though I've gotten used to hearing and seeing them everywhere, I personally don't like it. Certain people give off a mean and intimidating vibe when they do it (like my dad). However, I'm very much okay with stuff like "That song as so [expletive]-ing good." Like, if cursing isn't used in a mad, angry, or mean way, I'll be okay.

So, yeah, I don't curse and I like still being the one that doesn't because I feel more in control of my words.

However, you guys can do it as much and how you want to - I don't ever say anything about it, my girlfriend even does it around me and I let her so yeah y'all can have fun with the cursing, I'll just be here with my "what in the world"s instead of "wtf"s lol :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Very rarely. There are many other words you can use without swearing.

My grandfather always says that cuss words are for people who don't have a large enough vocabulary to use other words to adequately describe their feelings. I say fuck that.

I do so rather frequently unless in an environment where it would be frowned upon

I do it all the time and so does everyone in my family. We're just used to it.

No, I don't swear. If I do, it means that I'm seriously upset.
