I found this old post of mine:

    What do you think?

I mean no offense to anyone in anyway. Like I said, I just thought it was really interesting.

A prevailing theory about the causes of transness is prenatal exposure to hormones, which affect the brain's development.

    So it's possible it's related.

I don't think so. Both Nychthemeron and RainbowGreen are FtM like myself and like Nychthemeron, I'm not on testosterone. He says that his ring finger is taller than his index finger and I'm assuming that RainbowGreen said that his index finger was taller than his ring finger? Mine are pretty much at the same height. I honestly hands have to do with genetics, just like everything else. I don't believe that you can tell someone's sexuality just by looking at their hands.

I was talking about gender identity, not sexual orientation. Sorry for not being clear!

No, RainbowGreen said his ring fingers were taller than his index fingers.

My ring finger is longer than my index finger, so it might be true.

I definitely don't think it's a guaranteed way to tell, and it won't be true for everyone, but I would not be surprised if it is true because I think more/less testosterone in the womb can definitely affect gender and therefore transness.

My index fingers are longer, but I know from a blood test that I have abnormally high levels of testosterone for a girl (naturally, I'm not on any kind of hormones or anything). That isn't really consistent with the theory, but I have weird hands- the right is a full centimeter longer than the left

...My index is slightly longer than my ring.
Could it be? I'm not trans because of this and I won't get dysphoria anymore?
    This calls for celebration!

You tested two people. That's a ridiculously small sample.
    It's probably a coincidence.

My ring fingers are taller, but the length gap differs on each hand.

I think it's a coincidence. People's hands could just be different than someone else's. My ring finger on my right hand is taller than its index finger, but they're both the same on my left hand. It's really weird.

That's why I made this topic and added the poll, so more people can pitch in.

I'm a piss-poor researcher, so you'll have to excuse me.

I'm almost the same way, except flipped. My ring finger is taller on the left hand, but both my ring and index finger on the right hand is almost the same.

Almost because my ring finger about half a centimeter taller. Haha.

    Coincidence.

I'm a heterosexual woman according to that thing, lol.
And what about sexualities beside hetero/homo?

Guys, I'm talking about gender identity, not sexual orientation.

I'm sorry for not making that clear in the first post.

Ah, sorry. I just assumed it was sexual orientation since that's what the picture talks about, lol.

    Still think it's a coincidence tho. >//<

    Heheh, fair enough. c:

After reading, I'm still not sure, honestly. An Gentleman said it right: even if I didn't have a taller ring finger, it doesn't make me any less transgender.

    Still, it's an interesting theory.

Some things just aren't meant to be explained.
