By standard, I'm pretty much thinking 1000 Islands, bleu cheese, Italian, honey mustard, ranch, Caeasar, and French. I like all of the above except honey mustard. As for salad dressings not typically offered, I really like cucumber dressing, which is easily found, and creamy pesto type dressings, but I remember Wishbone once made a sun dried tomato vinaigrette and it was excellent! I even called them up if the stores where I shopped were hit and miss with carrying it so I could find out where to go to stock up on it. I haven't seen it in a long time. Any slightly atypical salad dressings for your salad?
I'm a big fan of the apple cider vinaigrette that Burger King has. I haven't found it in the stores, but it's delicious!
Honey mustard is the best, I buy jars of it and pig out on it as it's not high in calories . But unusual? Milestone's Spicy Citrus Mango was one that I persuaded the waitress to bottle a bit for me recently
Nuoc mam (fish sauce) mixed with red chili peppers and garlic. But the salads I'm thinking of aren't with the usual veggies like lettuce and spinach. I'm thinking of Viet salads that use papaya, cabbage, etc. However, I've tried dipping lettuce in nuoc mam and like it too
I love Thousand Island and whatever salad dressing Olive Garden uses on their house salad. I also love Caesar salad, especially at Red Lobster with their warm Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Damn you Darden Restaurants for making us go to your restaurants only for the salad and bread :roflmao: (Darden Restaurants used to own Red Lobster now that it was/is being sold off, and still owns Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse and other casual dining restaurants). That said, I am trying to eat better at home and I make my own salad vinaigrette. Right now, I have a raspberry vinaigrette in the fridge that only used raspberries, extra virgen olive oil, and apple cider vinegar (and some spices for seasoning). It is an acquired taste, given that it's not like the creamy and sweet Thousand Island, but it's much healthier.
1000 Islands - Not really standard, but some people here know it exists Blue cheese - ? Italian - ?? Honey mustard - Standard yes : ) ranch - ????? Caesar - Well known French - ?, do you mean vinaigrette? I like 'Lettuce sauce', a more liquid version of mayonaise with vinagar.
I hate salad dressing :/ it makes the food feel unnatural and slimy. I LIKE vegetables, the way they are.
