If you were made to choose between a friend or a lover, what would you pick up.

I think a lover..but I would think my lover would also be my friend?

Friend. A friend is a rare thing, a lover is rare as well. But the rarest thing is a friend who can save you from the damage of a lover.

Well, I'm really rather baffled. To have a lover I'd not feel it was possible without them being a friend. Do you mean "lover" in a physical sense? Does emotion come into this?

All these words are too vague for me. Unless it is absolute-just-non-sexual-friend versus absolute-just-sex-partner. In which case I will wholeheartedly immediately choose friend.

If I had to choose between a friend who I really felt emotionally connected to, and a lover who was perfect in body but not emotionally satisfying, I would definately choose the friend. There's really no competition.

As Beyond says, what type of lover, someone who could care less about your feelings and just uses you for sex, and vice versa, or someone you're in love with who you're in a relationship with? If the latter, than a lover. If the first one, than a friend.

I wouldn't find a "relationship" that consisted of just sex satisfying. It could be fun for a while, but I need more

So, definitely a friend in that case.
