A slightly bizarre question (couldn't think where else to put it)

How on earth do you put a poster up on the wall without it falling down in the next few minutes?!

I'm planning on completely poster-ifying my room to make it all Helenish and nice, and every single effing time I try to put one up using blu-tac it PEELS OFF THE WALL!:bang:

I use ridiculous amounts of sticky tape, and try not to think about what I'm doing to the paint on the walls.

What is blu-tac? You could frame them but that would be expensive. I'd use thumb tacks (however they make holes in the wall) or Scotch tape. You could probably also go to a store like Lowes or Home Depot (or the equivalent in Dubai) and ask if they know of something you can use.

I guess it depends on the brand of blu tac you buy, I've always bought UHU. It also depends on the surface you're trying to stick the poser to, wallpaper is perfect. Have you tried thumbtacks?

Blutac work fine for my walls...

White-tac is a stronger version of blu-tac, you could try that.

I also use thumbtacks. Or, you could use duct tape.

Haha, I apply copious amounts of tape to them. It works well, unless it gets really hot.

If the paint or whatever has been on the wall for some time it could be a bit dirty which is why the blu-tack is not sticking. Any greasiness would cause that problem. You could try cleaning the little bits of the wall you are trying to stick to with something like white spirit or nail polish remover and see if that helps.

It's like plasticine or play-dough but more sticky.

  13. I have a border of little flyers for different Broadway plays around my wall, and about ten posters in my bathroom, and they're all stuck up with masking tape. We used one piece in each corner.

You should use drawng pins, they leave a hole but its small to even notice neway unless go really close and look for em, dont use blue tac coz if you leave them on too long they'll stick to the wall and tear the wall paper off when you take em down

Don't use pins or blu-tac. Just buy the little double-sided tape squares (sticky foam sort of) from any store that sells tape and they NEVER fall down. Also, wipe the wall first to get rid of any dust...
